I'd probably ditch the 1/2 and find a 3/4.

I don't know bout that cum-a-part but i won't EVER own a half ton again! Don't get get me wrong Ive pulled mad weight with my old half ton but the brakes just aren't there. I love the giant 13" drums on the rear of my C-20 ! In near future going to add the hydro boost to my '84 to get max stopping power.
