Car hauling like new ones? Good gig, I know a few folks who do it. Anywhere from 3 to 8 cars, to actually enclosed trailers. Great money in it to if you stay on top of it.

An yea, insurance is a pain. Folks I know who do it have to carry a huge amount of liability/cargo I think it is. If I'm wrong on what your talking about I apologize. Good luck with the new venture Focker, if I can help let me know an I can bug the folks I know who do it.

I know what you're going through. I looked into it a few years ago when I wanted to buy tractor/trailer and haul "hot-shot". Then again when I wanted to start a wrecker business. Both times, the insurance stopped everything. Wound up starting a business as a freight broker. Then a couple years after I started, the recession hit. Instant business killer. Fortunately, I wasn't dependent on it for income. The next thing was scrap batteries/metal and I haven't looked back.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

yeah i am hauling 2 cars at a time and most of them are from salvage auctions.I found it pretty cheap through progressive but you have to pay the whole 6 months in full.

Liability insurance? Yeah, even the application is a pain, they want everything. I had to dig papers up that were buried in my closets. I was like, you want me to hand over my first born too? lol

Other then cost it's rather point an click. Getting a IFTA is harder. Yes I've looked into it, other then cost don't see the difficult part. Unless your doing Hazmat, or trying to get a twic card, etc. I think the difficult part comes after being a O/O...lol..I hate paperwork!

Registration & Assistance: USDOT*Number/Operating*Authority - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

An here's one to OODIA..they like to help folks get set up.

Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, Trucking Association They will walk you through the full process.

Mods edit if you need to, just trying to help a member out, an both sites are good for anyone trying to do car hauling on a bigger level, like with authority, IFTA, etc.

Hope it helps anyone else trying to do this. If not..well it's there for the future!
