    This gives me a neat idea. Construct a framework to attach to the wall using very thin veneer. Attach magnets on the inside so you can put tools on your side and they'll stay in place - seemingly unsupported. Basically the same as Mechanic688 said with a little variation.
    People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
