I got a friend who sells books through Amazon but he doesn't use what you linked, as he does it for his business. Makes some good cash that way. I'm digging the book links. I read a ton, an worked in a book store for 4 years( one of my favorite jobs!), yea me. lol. Let us know how it works for ya! We get a big book sale down here two times a year, an I make out like a bandit when I go. Boxes of books you pick out, for 5.00. I usually leave with four or five big boxes. That's not counting the ones my wife leaves with. LOL.

Again let us know how it works out.

I thought that I would take this opportunity to share something I have been checking out. It has to do selling books. I will post a separate thread later when I actually send the books in. Here are some book buyers that I have found. I havent really seen anything about this yet on SMF, perhaps I am wrong.

    1. Sell Books Online and Sell Back Textbooks At sellbackyourBook.com Shipping is free and I typed in several ISBN #s and I got any where from .25 to 1.50. I currently recycle books for $30/ton instead of paying to dispose but, if I could make .25- $1.50 per book without the hassle of selling them individually that would be great.

    2. Amazon.com: Sell Your Books

this is the amazon book trade-in. You get a little bit for each book on the pricelist but, you get amazon credit instead of cash which works with me. I believe the shipping is free as well.

Has anyone tried one of these two options? I know many have tried using the amazon store or ebay to sell individual books but, this seem to be quick and easy way to make a little more without taking too much time away from other jobs.

I've done both, mostly with textbooks, and mostly through amazon. They are pretty quick to deny your book, so make sure it is in very good to immaculate shape. They also don't pay squat unless it is current edition. From my recent Mechanical Engineering degree, I actually made money by buying a used textbook and selling it to Amazon at the end of the semester.

So this thread turned into a thread on being grateful. At least that is what I am gettin out of it. Im gratefule for the awesome knowledge on this site. I give thanks to all who helped. Also yes it is a website. Some of these "thanks" led people to being more proffitavle in real life. Which is a good reason to thank someone. So in fact i say these thanks do effect someone outside of this site. They may not have told someone they thanked a person on SMF. But i bet they told someone how much money they made with thier new found knowledge.

I'm thinking those book sites, if nothing else than 25 or 50 cents a book, although not worth messing with otherwise, might be useful as a gauge to check titles for saleability elsewhere ; )

Yep I agree you are not going to get rich using it. I found the only titles they seem to buy are the more expensive textbook. Maybe useful for people that want to get a few buck without storing books and selling them individually.

I decided to try it anyway. I am sending 3 books in for $26. The most expensive book I am selling to them they are paying around $16 for and on ebay the same book is going for $46 so, you probably get about 1/3 or less of the value compared to selling individually.

So, I sent in 3 books and got about $17. One of the books was rejected because water damage (this book was new but, had just a little bit of water damage in the corner of the pages). It seems that they are a little picky with the condition of the books and it took about 21 days to receive a payment after they processed the shipment. I will have to try it out a couple more time before I decide if I want to stick with this company. I like how you have the list of books and the amount of money you should make on the packing slip that you put inside the package but, they did seem a little slow processing and sending payment for the shipment.
