The Lord gives and takes away

One of the last posts I made a few months ago was the car I had gotten on a call, it was the car I had wanted since I was 19. The boss called me 3 weeks ago Wednesday and asked if I would go to Kansas City and do 3 audits on 3 towers we had somehow missed and I said sure. Not getting into what I get paid but they don't cover fuel unless we work a disaster, $300 in my truck or $120 in my car plus the car was soooo much fun to drive so I saved $180 by driving the car. Anyway left my house at midnight get to my first site at daylight, firsts two sites go off without a hitch. Sitting at a red light I'm thinking man I'll be home by 7 tonight....BAMMM wth I look around and a concrete truck is sitting where I was. I was lucky and was not hurt, all I could think was I got one more site and I'm 7 hours from home.

Before anyone asks, no I'm not suing

Their insurance give me enough to get another but I'm thinking charger r/t and putting a little with theirs sometime next year

The guy that owned the company was way cool and he seen I was to, he rented me a car out of his pocket I didn't even have to ask, took me out to eat, and took me to the wrecker yard to clean out my car. Got done with my last site right before dark and got home right after midnight. 1st 24hr day I had had in a few years

expect the worst and hope for the best

Glad you weren't hurt Cory. Too bad your car got crashed. The Charger R/T sounds good though.

Yea, lest your whole an healthy! An yes sir...I'd be sure to leave quite the donation where ever it is you got that guardian angel my friend, cause he was surely doing his job that day. An sucks on the car, but it can be replaced, you or your health can't be. Good of you not to sue the guy either, sounds him an his insurance company are taking care of you an that's a plus.

Sucks all around, lest nobody was hurt an he's doing the right thing. Perhaps there is hope for humanity yet.

Anyways, glad your still in one piece an healthy my friend. Stay safe an watch out for concrete trucks.

Sirscrapalot - Having two, no maybe three more from the cooler for Cory an his car.

They totaled it $4700 in body damage on the surface not counting what they couldn't see, the hatch was bound up and the right side up to the door, also for whatever reason the rear wheels were locked up when the wrecker loaded it (fwd), they did get pushed over the curb but they look fine

    Edit, was also leaking gas

    Corey,

Pretty lucky outcome for the actual potential. They could have been scraping you off the pavement with a spatula!! +1 to SSaL suggestion to give a tip to your guardian angel!!!

Question: You said the truck was in the far lane--what caused him to swerve over into you?

    Jon.

There were cars in all lanes at the time I was sitting there around 11am or early lunch hour, by time I took pictures it was almost 2 and traffic was gone. There is a crest of a hill about 75 yards behind the truck. Basically he was just going too fast popped over the hill seen the red light and all the cars.
