    Clicky keyboard adapter

I just got in a bunch of clicky keyboards the old IBM ones and figured ill put them on ebay but
wanted to test them to see if they work first before listing as parts if they dont work but for the life of me cant seem to find the right adapter.
The ends are 5 pin ones and unfortunately most of the computers in my stock are quite newer so I need an adapter.
Anyone have one laying around I can buy or maybe post a link to the one I need. I know its a ps2 adapter but most I see are 6 pin.
    Thanks in advance.

have sold a lot of these and I always like to test but if they are in good condition and the wires are also in good condition not much can go wrong with them.......Never had a complaint or return on a keyboard I just make sure they know that what they are buying is used

On a side not found an Apple II keyboard still in the box last month and got $90 bucks on ebay...LOL

Aside from just a little dirty the wiring is good and all keys are intact so maybe im worrying over nothing?
I will probably add some on today and see what happens.
Usually sell alot of the apple white keyboards and havent had any problems yet course they were easier to test lol

Nice score! cant beat that. Almost all my apple stuff comes from schools and colleges.

I think that might be it the end needs to fit an adapter that can go in the back of a usual newer keyboard ports on computer these ones are 5 pins.

I have adapters that go either way, AT to PS2 and PS2 to AT.
So you have AT keyboards and need to test them on a computer that has a PS2 keyboard input. I got that.
If you have PS2 keyboards and need to test them on a computer that has an AT keyboard input. I got that too.

I replied to your PM too.

I have some of these IBM model M clicky keyboards, but mine have a different end on the cable. These were from point of sale cash register type computers and have an IBM TERMINAL connector. I was wondering if anyone knows if the RJ45 Ethernet to USB or PS2 adapters will work for these keyboards?

Here is a pic of the connector. It appears to be the same as Ethernet, I'm just not sure if the keyboard will run through that adapter and work on USB.

They might use a special adapter board Pnut, I just tried one in an Ethernet port and it didn't register. I got a keyboard error booting up, and was going to restart and look in the BIOS for anything there, but it started doing updates when I went to shut it down, and it'll be awhile on those

I was afraid of that, hoping it would work though, since I just counted and I have 50 of them.

Pnut, I've probly got some of the adapter boards, if we find that's what they need. If that's what they are I likely have some mixed in with old Networking boards. You'll still need a machine with at least one ISA slot

Thanks for the info Bear. I didn't think about using an ISA card for the keyboard input. I'd love to be able to convert these to PS2 because they will be worth more if people can just plug them in. I may have an ISA board around here that has that connector on it that I can use for testing.

Brandon, thanks, let me know. I remember having one video connector that had three inputs, one being this style, but of course I can't find it right now.

I'd expect that the people who'll want to plug those in already have their connection, Pnut. The only reason you would need one is to test them with, although as has already been stated, they won't hardly go bad unless they've been submerged for a time, or run over by a truck. IF it is an adapter card, and you find what you need, I most likely have one somewhere, if I only knew what to look for. Fact is, I only have a couple of those keyboards, and have never had much any wish to test or dispose of them. The adapter cards I'll likely have as well, somewhere ; )

Actually I only reached the point of wondering after reading this post, that some of the older Networking cards I've saved, might well be keyboard adapters instead
