    Different kind of forum

A young lady I talk to sometimes hadn't been out since we had the ice. She said she was going to pour hot water on her windshield. I told her I had heard it would break the windshield but I had never seen it. Anyway google button give me a forum called straightdope.com. Any it kept me up most of the night and I'll warn you some of the topics are somewhat odd and a couple were disturbing. That might have been what kept my attention. Anyway as far as the windshield goes the general consensus was it could expand cracks and chips but a new windshield would be ok, of course some said it would bust. It's an interesting site if anyone wants to check it out

Edit. Forgot to add their slogan was fighting ignorance since 1973

Some use hot water instead of cold to lukewarm. Hot water on cold glass doesn't always mix well ; )

They used to use old marbles for crafts, dropping frozen marbles into boiling water to crystalize the glass marble, basically filling it with cracks

I have gotten into frozen cars by using warm water around the door seal.
wouldn't it be easier to start the car and turn on the defroster for 5 min?

I remember when we were moving, my mom took out one of the glass shelves to the fridge and it was still cold, she put it in the hot water and it just shattered everywhere.

Cory, thanks for the web site. Interesting to say the least. I love their slogan, fighting ignorance since 1973, it took longer than we thought. Bear, I have some marbles I think were created this way. I did not know how they were made and thought they might be valuable. I wonder if they will shatter if hit with a steely. I might have to try it with the grandkids someday.

The more I learn, the dumber I feel.

Beer is good, but when it's cold an your sitting out side busting things down, a nip of the whiskey, warms ya right on up!

Back to breaking down things, while enjoying the rest of Boondock Saints.

Quote below is for you Cory. lol.
