dropping your phone while exiting your car

Otterbox case. I always used the defender series. Now with my iPhone 5 I picked up an Otterbox Armor case.

I had this happen to me once. I had my phone on my lap and got out to check the mail. I heard it hit the groun but I didn't realize what it was and I didn't see anything on the ground since it was dark, but I got the mail and then drove the rest of the way up the driveway. I couldn't find my phone later and then I realize what happened. I went out by the mailbox and it was laying on the ground, crushed because I ran over it.

Anyway, if your only issue is the screen is cracked I think you can just get a new screen and get it installed. I know there are places around here that can do it but my brother replaced his vibrate on his iPhone 4 and it was fairly simple.

I had this happen to me with my first "smart" phone.. I was towing a car with a dolly for the first time ever, got out to check on it, phone was on my lap and I didn't notice.. got out and dropped it on the ground during a rain storm.. got home, couldn't find it anywhere, drove all the way back to where I got out and sure enough it was sitting in a puddle, still on. It was in the Ottor Box Defender case, and it had been ran over a few times, but surprizingly still functioned for a couple months (with some quirks).. other than this one time my phones only die one of two ways - I drop them in the toilet or I throw them against the wall because its no longer working (So maybe it was already dead before hurling it into oblivion)..

, I have watched several friends do this whole phones and other more fragile items as they were exiting the car. I find it best to just wear a sweater or a coat with pockets.. and I always keep it in my pocket. Just remember to zip it up if you have to climb under a car or else you will lose it.

My wife just got a dash pad to hold her phone. I was skeptical, but it really worked. It looks similar to a small mouse pad and the phone sticks to it quite well. I couldn't use one because of all the dust I get in my truck, so I have a belt clip that mine snaps into. That works pretty good, but I agree with and have an otter box.

Lifeproof. It's an indestructible case.

the pad is $3 and it helps a lot. I put it on the dash board. Just make sure to leave it face down to charge during the day in the sun. Until they come out with a phone-on-a-rope I am always looking for something to help me not break my phone.

Phone-on-a-rope......you can develop and sell it. Just send us some royalties when you make your millions. Make sure the rope has wiring for a mic and earbuds.

Have the I phone 4,life proof case and drove over it. Glass was shattered but phone still worked,with issues though. Had it repaired fo 89 bucks. These fragile phones will be forever breaking...

on the center console,on the dash.I keep mine in the handle of my door.

i do this atlest twice a day i never learn

hmm i hear this alot but never have a problem keeping my phone safe in a holder or pocket and the holder I made from scrap that is up out of the way and easy to reach and see while driving to be a little safer

on a side note in this business at least there plenty of parts free or cheap lol
