Scrapping is literally a dirty job!

I was at a stop of mine picking up a load of damaged goods from a retailer in my area. They let me process the load at their dumpster. The whole time I going through this load I couldn't help to notice how many birds were flying around the area together. There had to been 300 - 400 birds flying in formation. I went back to processing the load of goods when I felt a dozen hits of something like hail hitting me. The vehicles driving near me all stopped and got out trying to understand it. I was covered in quarter sized brown spots of seeds, berry, and mushy bird poop. It stretched out over a 50 ft x 40ft area. Gross! The manager kept calling people back to show off how dirty scrapping really is.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

There may have been something nearby they'd been feeding on and your activity was keeping them away, so they decided to drop a little..uhmmm... hint.

I recall a guy telling about driving up where some buzzards were feeding, he must have led a dull life or something, because he decided to stop atop their dinner and just set there. The buzzards circled awhile, and then started diving at him and puking all over the car. He must have got the message and left, but said that stuff was near impossible to scrape off his car and that it stank like hell

Reminds of the scene from Lean on Me, where Joe Clark's boss is ranting at him, towards the end.."Your like a giant bird, an I'm the one getting **** upon!" or something along those lines..lol.

I live on a sandbar, an deal with seagulls an the like, they are for the most part not to bothersome unless there is some idiot around feeding them. It's highly frowned upon down here to feed them.

Sirscrapalot - Lean on me...just not if I;m tipsy or we're both going over.

Everything I recovered was covered in bird poop. If I don't take it someone else will. The manager said she has at least 10 - 12 scrap trucks drive through every day.

That sounds like Starlings. They're not welcome in farm country. They sit on automatic cattle waterers and do their thing. In open buildings, they're a pain. They spread disease to make it worse.

They called me back today to stop by for another load. When I arrived they had 3 bins of damaged goods to pick from and two corporates nit wits there who couldn't stop laughing about my ordeal. They wanted to know how I kept from looking up with my mouth wide open. They stood there forever imitating the incident and continuous laughed about it.

I hate when people carry on about something that happens to you that they find hilarious. Though you pretend to laugh and carry on about it to keep a good business relationship.

I know it hasn't even been two days yet. Ugh!

You could always get a good handful an next time they laugh, an ask...give'm a taste an be all.."Not like that!"...I don't suggest this course if you want to keep them, but hey..it'll make you feel better.

Yea, I'm an evil bastard sometimes. Only sometimes.
