All Right, Who Let Their Blizzard Out to Run Around??

We're getting socked pretty good today, up to 12 inches more on top of the 5-6" from the other day and a low temp of -10 with 25-35 mph gusts. All of Northern Indiana is under a Blizzard warning. Hopefully we can ride this out, this is downright dangerous.

Yeah, we just got another 7" yesterday on top of the 11" we got Thurs./Fri. It's -6 degrees right now and that'll be the high for the next couple of days. Good times to stay inside and do some breakdown. Stay warm and be safe friends!

Hey Chris, IT WORKED!!! 40 here in NE Indiana today (Sunday) and the snow is melting. However, my brass monkey is now singing soprano 'cause I forgot to bring him in last week. -18 was recorded low a week ago along with 14" of snow and 25 mph winds. What a difference a week makes. Thanks for the thoughts. Vance

We got a Wind Chill warning and all the schools in my area are closed tomorrow and maybe Tuesday. Not supposed to be outside more than 10 minutes.

Yep.. Indiana is getting a WHOOPIN! I dug out the snow at the end of the driveway and cleared off the cars twice today.. Since when it drops well below zero- there will be no hope of getting it broken up and moved. Trying to stay ahead of it.

Planning on going in to do some billable time tomorrow- even though they have (at least for now) banned all non-emergency travel. May just have to suck it up.. hunker down and wait it out- I'm more worried that the truck won't start due to temperature than I am being able to get around in it!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I'm guessing this all apart of that arctic cold front or whatnot I've been hearing about all week. When I looked where it was going to impact, I of course thought you Mech an Sledge. I then promptly cursed Weather Channel for being a bunch of fear mongering idjits. Seems these days they rely more on scaring you then just doing what they should..report the weather! Naming snow storms..gah! Just silly.

On that note an all seriousness..stay safe, don't go out if ya don't gotta. That paycheck will still be there when you thaw out.

An on a total non-seriousness level..I let the blizzard out! Muahahahahaa! /evil laugh

Not much snow in south central MN, but mother nature has a fresh charge of refrigerant and has the doors wide open. -20 to -25 here tonight without the wind-chill, my thermometer says -21 as I type. Even colder the farther north you go. Have not seen temps like this for a while and looks like a couple more days before it even gets above 0.

I was supposed to tear off a 7.5 ton and 12 ton RTU tomorrow. Crane company just messaged me that it'll be too cold for the hydraulics and have to postpone. YES!!!!!!!!!!! It'll be 20 below @ 9:00 AM tomorrow. I wouldn't ask my guys to work in that unless its an absolute emergency situation, and even then it's their own choice. Frostbite or hypothermia aren't worth the profit I'd get off a couple of RTU's.

Somehow I got the raw end of a deal with friends of mine that went down to Costa Rica last week (for 2 weeks), ... +27°C today when I checked, ...meanwhile -24°C here today not including any windchill.
Glad I ropped out some round bales yesterday tho, friggin windy today. but at least no pipes frozen in the barn today. was colder Friday and Saturday tho I think, ... had to deal with frozen pipes and alternate supply of water for the cows. Think the barn cats were whining more for water than food too, lol.

Well, shoot! Here I talk about being in the "great white north" and I'm freezing my butt off in -10C temperatures (+14F for you Southerners), while you poor guys in the Midwest are approaching the temperature where the US and Canada both agree are the same: -40F (=-40C) !!! Ugh.

But my woodpile is full and my two stoves are going full bore and we're comfortable....

Stay safe, watch for frostbite and do your best to hibernate, at least until things moderate a little.

    Jon.

Maybe should call it the "great white south...."

Sir; Be carefull what you say. I live in west central Florida and it's going down to 25 here so I know it'll be colder than that on the sandbar. 25 is pritty cold for us plus a wind chill of about 15. I think I'll sleep in Tues.

Im going to take a pic on my way out tomorrow morning. We have easily 2ft+ here north of the border. Snowfall warning and snow squall warning here tonight. Expecting another foot before the end of the day tomorrow. I have no idea where to pile the shoveled snow anymore......
Thats it!! "Snow bank removal. $___ per yard"
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Brojer....don't cry a river, it will freeze on you then you'll really be in trouble.

I'm actually getting affected here in South Alabama. It's going to be in the 20's tonight and teens tomorrow night. That's enough to freeze up the watering system on my cotton picker. Harvest is shut down until it thaws out and dries up.
