    Finally Done

I just finished up my buddies 94 F150 earlier today. Had been in a head on collision with a Chevy (Ford won!). Ended up with no scrap metal just because the junkyards didnt have all the parts i needed. Basically, i just made his truck road legal. So now i have a spare headlight and turn signal housing. I might have more stuff. I like to buy extra of everything in case i break them (**** plastic bullsh*t). Anyways, is it common for mid 90s F150s to have a core support rot out where it bolts to the frame? His was rusted and snapped. Went to the junkyard and every single one i looked at was rusted out too

It's very common, especially in these northern road salt states. I junked a 95 F-150 last year that had the left side of the core support literally rusted in half.

A lot of the aftermarket body parts places list core supports for older trucks. That may be your best option for finding one in one piece.

is it sometimes called a radiator support? if so, I almost think they were designed to rot out.

There was some years that they (big 3) were using overseas metal for the vehicles and within 5 years the body rust would start.

Mazda too... 01-06ish mazdas used to show rot after just 2 years. We have about 4-5 months of salty roads so that pobably didnt help. I hate rot... cancer for cars...
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Mazda, ...Ford, ...same thing really, ...for example the small trucks.

I've come accross a few s-10's that the rad support was rotted out at the lower sections as well, ...think that might be common on many trucks.
As Sparrow suggested, they are a common item in aftermarket body metal supply lists.
