Same here generally. About 30 years ago my dad bought a small straight truck parked it in the driveway, next day city told him to move it. Meanwhile, down a few streets I remember at least one contractor that had trailers with commercial signage parked in the driveway and had them for years as I grew up. I have had my trailer parked in the driveway and neighbors have never complained. I know a guy that parks a moving truck that he owns from time to time in his driveway. This is all in the same town, yet it is a law against parking commercial vehicles in private drives for extended periods of time. Part of it is people are trying to make a living, however, if they are treading on your comfort such as causing noise pollution (which could be another angle you could shoot against him).
Well this is all very interesting. Code Enforcement would probably never get involved because of the following: He pulls it in at 9:30 at night.. and is gone by 6:30 in the morning.. never even getting close to their business hours. But all really good stuff to chew on. Thanks Gents
strip the truck of all its metal ....
I think this is going to be completely personal opinion. If it is less than 40F outside, I will go out 15-20 minutes before i need to leave in the mornings and let my truck idle, to warm up the block but also to warm up the cab so I'm not freezing while driving. When the summer rolls around and its over 110F and I will not be out of the truck for more than 20 minutes, I let it idle and keep the air running. Now does this waste fuel? To some I'm sure it does but it does not to me. The old diesel motors, before all this EPA crap was put on, could idle all day and all night and it wouldn't hurt the motor at all. Gas motors it isn't great to idle it, but also I have never heard of anything major happen that was solely based on idling a gas motor. But again I think its all based on personal preference. I know people that will idle their truck while they are in the grocery store for 2 hours, I also know people that turn their truck off even if their just checking their mailbox for 2 minutes.
I think the point is.. I don't mind people warming up their trucks. I do it too.. But his truck was literally running 24 hours a day- the entire time he did his route, AND when he got home- and let it sit and idle from 9:30 PM until 6:30 AM and off he went.
So It is funny I have pics of the street where he is dropping all kinds of fluids from the truck.. no sooner did I do that- he has been sent home with a Diesel Penske truck because his must be in for repairs- the 24 hour run time for so long must have d!cked something! Glad I nipped this in the bud before he let that d@mn Diesel idle overnight- I'd have gone bat-shat crazy!
Ok So Apparently the Delivery Truck DOES fit in the driveway!
I swear I had NOTHING to do with this! Just good Karma raining down on me possibly?
In all the years he's been bringing this home- ever since it caught fire once.. he has NEVER parked it in the driveway- but there it is!
**** you all are close together lol.
Focker: You figure my trailer sits right behind my truck.. You imagine a car on it and it having to "run all night" if things were to get nasty eh?
Oh and his bedroom window sits right next to where the trailer sits- yep- THAT CLOSE!
lol dam
