I have an interesting find I need help with recycling

I really didn't know where to post so here goes.

I have been cleaning out this computer shop all week and he wants me to take these canisters...

The only problems I have is are they worth more to sell, what might the contents be (he said syrup as in syrup for soda), what is the proper way to open them with out getting blasted in the face with whats inside? In other words are they pressurized?

Don't quote me but I think the pressure is in another tank that is connected by a hose. Could be wrong tho.

Thats a corny keg. see if its under pressure first by opening the top pressure release valve. The gas is(should be) CO2 if its not under pressure pop the top and pour it down the drain.
They are worth $35.00- 50.00each depending on local market.

Advertise it as a Cornelius Keg. Homebrewers love those things as they can be used for making draft beer.

I had one of those from a clean out and the yard wouldn't take it because it's property of the beverage company.

I just did a google search cant find anything about them being in business anymore, not only that I just called the number and it has been dis-connected. Area code 989.

So.. It looks like I will either resell or scrap just take off the sticker.

Don't scrap them! Put them on craigslist as long as you can verify the company is no longer around. I have a friend who uses those for home brewing and they are hard to find. You can sell those no problem.

Thanks fellas! lol, I like the idea of 80-100 ryanw The guy has eight of them just to hand over.

I think I will definitely be giving this guy a gift card of some kind.

He calls me up and tells me one week to come and get all this computer scrap out back behind his shop. Then two weeks later he tells me to clean out his shop of computer electronics, and other various items, like a Geiger meter Really cool I might resell that. I have been spending a week grabbing as much as I can and I still have more to do.

All in all I have gotten 15-20laptops, 10pcs, 1-2servers, 10 items with high grade boards in them (sorry I can't be more specific) 6-7 boxes full of wire, a trunk full of xbox 360 parts, 7flat screen monitors, misc items up the ying yang.

I will be going back monday to pick up more Laptops, boxes of finger cards, well basically boxes and boxes of misc items.

Have I said I love this site lately?

I even tried another phone number 517-752-0644 (Lansing area) found on Google it is disconnected as well. The owner of the shop said a lot of his old employees used to leave their "cool" finds in his shop.

I have a dozen of these out in the snowbank that were given to me buy a local restaurant. The owners of the tanks had been called several times a year for six years to pick them up and the guy had enough and told me to take them. I called and setup a pickup and they never showed...

They are great for storing sap though!

Wondering where you been hiding HH. Now we know, you been mining that shop for goodies!

Nice score. Good luck on moving them, you'll make a home brewer happy somewhere, which makes me happy..so..good job!

Good resellable item. I have not seen them actually used any more by the soda industry, but worth checking any numbers on the side first.
