I dug part of my back yard one time and after digging for an hour I found ...more dirt. Do the couple get to keep what they found or is it a % of what they found?

According to the article they get to keep it all. They will put some on loan with somebody. An plan to sell it off on Amazon afterwards.

Sure the government will come get their cut once they cash out, but who knows. Heh.

Indeed KZ. The couple is keeping it a secret who they are an where the house is so treasure hunters don't come tearing up their land.

Now thats one hell of a find. Finding gold is near impossible so just look for the next best thing... Silver! Ive found a few silvers here and there. Definitely easier to find than gold and silver has gone up just a little over the past month. Whats the next best thing to silver? 1000 free computers!

I found a nice JVC camera bag with a camcorder in it. I want to sell the camcorder and keep the bag. I also found the tripod that goes with everything.

I saw this on the news tonight. After they cash out they will have to pay income tax. You know the IRS will get their 40-45%.

It'll be awhile, unless they decided to sell it all outright. Article said they'd be loaning to someday for a tour, then selling it off on Amazon couple at a time. I was surprised they mentioned Amazon by name, but then again I'm not. Good way to keep people looking for it over there, I guess.

Either way...I'd be happy with it.

I'll put that right up there with stories of stopping into that neighborhood Saturday morning garage sale and finding a 1947 Martin 6-string acoustic guitar for $50.

1.) They did the right thing by remaining anonymous.
2.) They did the right thing by sending the coins to a professional coin restoration company. Certainly didn'twantto attempt to clean them with a toothbrush and white vinegar.
3.) And hopefully, they secured a lawyer to legally guide them through the whole ordeal, in order to avoid the cockroaches which will surface.
