As always, just follow the money to see the real truth. This has been going on since the French/British wars and Waterloo when the Rothschild's used false rumors the French won the war to buy up the entire British stock market. "Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it".

I think we all agree on WW1 and WW2.

Both were wars that needed to be ended an us in them. WW2 we dilly dallied while Hitler took Europe. Then we did get involved. From Korea till now, the jury is still out if things were necessary. Oh wait..Korea was a "police action." Vietnam was a just a straight up cluster pluck. WW2 is a mark of shame for the entire world. It should never have gone as far as it did. It's estimated 60,699,200, to 85,000,000 an change died in total during WW2. From the Holocaust, to famine an disease. Did you know the only other war to come close to those numbers, was the Mongolian Conquest wars? It's estimated that the Allies lost close to 60 MILLION to the war, Holocaust, an resulting disease an famine. Axis side..11 million. The numbers are staggering.

The current ones, as Auminer, an Olddude point out, are all about the money. In my own so humble opinion. I'm avoiding politics here, I'm not a political person mind you, and I'd hate to see this thread shut down. I do feel that everything else has been nothing but about the money. Most wars are nothing but grand theft writ large by countries.

Sources.. World War II Statistics | Statistic Brain How Many People Died In World War 2 | World War 2 Casualties List of wars by death toll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To this day, no matter how many times I've visit the monuments in DC, or the Museums and their exhibits on WW2, I'm still left with chills. I also get this while visiting the Korean War, and Vietnam monuments an exhibits. I shudder to imagine a similar war happening today. If folks haven't yet, you need to visit the Holocaust Museum, National History Museum's WW2 exhibit, and of course the monuments.

I don't like war, and I'm no war monger, but I do think we should've gotten in WW2 earlier then we did. Hundred of thousands, if not Millions of lives could have been saved. If a Hitler type ever came around again, I would surely be for ending it before it ever reached the staggering number of deaths to soldiers an civilians. One just can't turn their back on Genocide and other atrocities that were committed during WW2.

I will always support my troops though, whether I agree or not with the people who sent them there. Just my thoughts on things, an my .02 cents, or may 1.50. Ha ha! Sorry to veer off topic.

" In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together. " Dwight D. Eisenhower Military-Industrial Complex Speech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

Putin & Kim are both criminal "THUGS". What's happening in Ukraine is a "THUG" is taking what he wants (MONEY). Europe needs to police Europe. My $.02

I shortened your post somewhat, ssa, for brevity, by removing the parts we're all very well agreed on, and the parts where you were simply copy and pasting other peoples words.

We're all agreed in these things because we won those wars, we were in the right, we didn't want in them, and we only went because we were pulled into them against our will. We won them because we were ready, willing, and able to go there, undivided. I, for one, hope we'll be as ready, willing, able, determined, and undivided, the next time.
We're also agreed that wars are generally started by those who want to gain, by any means, something they simply don't possess.
Those "staggering" numbers are all too familiar ssa, to anyone who doesn't have their head in the sand.

Actually, SSA, I failed to see anything there we're not agreed on, excepting maybe your political endeavors. Maybe you've simply missed your calling. All you'd need to do, besides what you already do so well, is to promise everybody a free cellphone or something, and you'd be a shoe-in. You'd be indebted to absolutely none of your constituents, only to one person, and the best part of that is, one who isn't even in your state! hahahaha ; )

    lol

I'm to honest Bear. I say what I feel, and I'm far to crass and blue collar to ever be allowed to make it in Politics. I like a cold beer, I enjoy a good cigar now an then, and I don't suffer fools. I'd either be censured, shot, arrested or run out of town. LOL

Far as my political leanings..I'm a little bit of everything. I'm for gun owners, the death penalty, a free market, an no big brother taking care of me from the cradle to the grave. I'm also pro - legalization, believe in helping your fellow man who needs it with conditions, not just a free check for you to spend wherever, an huge penalties if you get caught abusing or cheating that help. (foodstamps/whatever you want to call it.) I'm for war if certain conditions are met (WW1, WW2), but not for oil and profit, etc. but I'd rather give peace a chance.

I could go on but..gotta leave some mystery. lol

Hence I'm not a political person, I don't have a party, the only party I subscribe to is common sense and the golden rule. Treat me with respect an I'll do the same. I'm an odd beast, but on the bright side...you'll always know where I stand, whether you love me, or hate me, agree or disagree. Heh. Good or bad, that's me in a egg shell.

I'll end with some words from one of my favorite sources for quotes...

Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself. - Mark Twain (notice, he doesn't separate the parties..nor do I. ha ha!)

My apologies all, more then you wanted to know about me I'm sure, but hey..welcome to the mind of a crazy person.

Sirscrapalot - We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. - Abraham Lincoln

I know we have a fine line when it comes to certain discussions and thanks folks for keeping it going.

We have certainly crossed boarders that Russia didn't like and turnabout is fair-play. Making threats that would have little or no impact can and will give the perception of weakness IMHO.

SSA...I will vote along your party lines and nominate Cory to run in 2016.
