Would a Transportation section be useful?

There are a lot of people here who need to ship things (from small to big loads). There are also members and visitors to the forum who carry freight on regular routes and would appreciate some extra business. Adding a Transportation section/subtopic would make it easier for these folks to find each other.

    What do you think?

**Note: Credit goes to member daw_green_clean for first suggesting this is another thread. Except if you all think it's a bad idea. Then I'll accept full responsibility, because I am a most honorable hamster/mouse/whatever.**

Well, not a lot of votes... But at least they're positive so far.

Im always between Barrrie and Sudbury if anyone ever needs reasonable transportation. Iv got a truck and 18ft car trailer. Not alot of members on here in my area but if anyone around me needs something larger moved, feel free to PM me.

I think it would be a decent idea to have a section for transportation. Kinda like a buyer thread, except people offering transport or links to companies they know of.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Yes, it could help me out. I don't have many buyers near me. (Paying decent prices at least.)
When I have a good load of Hi yield small items, I will possibly be looking into bundling with someone.

You should have added a "I don't care" vote, or something. Either pure genius or sucks! Straight to the point!

My main hobby is old diesel stuff --- think Mercedes diesel cars, old odd ball diesel generators, etc. I belong to several online forums; SteelSoldiers probably has the best Transportation Forum. If I sell a car and am delivering it, I hate to make the run home empty. I often make trips in just my pickup truck to deliver an engine or seats and wheels --- I hate driving home empty.

We should definitely take advantage of our network of scrappers to deliver stuff for each other.

I'm with you on this. I have thought about doing something similar myself, but others are doing it (albeit not very well, IMO). Uship has a great way to pickup loads if you are hauling empty one-way. I make trips from Atlanta to Florida a few times a year, and have recently needed to get stuff from Atlanta to the northeast, so I think an in-house forum might be good.
