    Traveling rewards

I've been working on the cell towers for a while now, I get free rooms on occasion but I want to share two rewards that most of you can cash in on.

Autozone, for every 5 purchases you make over $20 you get a $20 gift card, we of course just get a couple new tools.

Double dipping here as I buy rotella at autozone, you redeem rotella caps on mymilesmatter.com for 50 points a cap, 13 caps will get you a $5 gift card to subway and 1140 will get you an ipad air and numerous things in between. Now I know most of you don't go thru this like we do as I use at least 2 gallons a day. No proof of purchase required tho so you may ask the mechanic shops you stop at to save those lids for you. I've got two other technicians saving them for me so I'm getting 6 a day on a slow day. Anyway just thought I would share

Cory, if you don't already stay at choice hotels. Once your in their member program, you get points. Can use them for a free night at any hotel, or for gift cards at various places. CVS, Wal-mart, an a bunch of others. My wife saves her's for the gift cards as we use her discount when we travel, an it's cheap enough I ain't worried about a free night.

I can also get you taken care of now an then if you use them sometimes.

Stay safe man, an thanks for sharing. Now back to posting pics of the cool food spots you find!

I was told at the sleep inn (I think that's a choice) that our discount was too large to get points or anything over 20%. The drury(sorry sir) gives points, free hot breakfast and supper and free beer(some locations offer mixed drinks). Your wife knows I'm sure and the clerk I talked to may not have known what they were talking about. Clarion and best western was the same results. We use a clc card or corporate lodging, the discounts are so good that they can't even tell us the rate until after they run the card.

Ahh, your CLC yea, that might matter. It sounded like you paid out of pocket. Clarion an Sleep Inn are both Choice, yeppers!

CLC does get a really good deal. They have folks right now in-house on CLC they are paying like 59 a night an get ocean side if available. I'll ask her tho when she gets home just to be sure. I'm sure tho that is correct.

With CLC those rates are locked in as I understand it, which is great down here. Person off the street right now will be like 80 a night, come summertime that price will jump hugely. CLC tho will still get the 59 rate if rooms are available. So ever stay in the summer, use the CLC. 250 a night turns into 59, or whatever the rate is. Ha ha!

Very good friend of mine an his family come down every summer, we get them hooked up with the friends an family so discount, so instead of paying a crap load of money for the week, I think they spend about 400 for the week, for the rooms, an usually get ocean front if it's available. We take care of our friends.

On the flip side..I love her employee discount. We did Disney last year, stayed off site. 35 bucks a night, an it was a very nice hotel. Free beer, an supper is a good thing. I know Choice gives the free hot breakfast, no just muffins an doughnuts.

An no worries buddy, gotta get the best bang for the buck.

Yep I stayed in the clarion in Iowa city, $36 I'm thinking mainly because it was Iowa city. Most of the drurys are between 50 to 55 the meals are convenient and they keep me from going to a bar and spending a chunk of cash, of course it's not nearly as much fun

I guess I need to say I'm not slacking, I'm sitting at a cell tower in Kansas City waiting on a propane truck to deliver propane.

A buddy of mine works for a major retail company setting up stores and doing remodels, the guy in charge so to speak. He uses his rewards at Christmas and hands out stacks of gift cards every year.

I always make sure I leave on a trip with an empty credit card. I like rewards points on that too.

Reward benefits I think was the gist..regardless where they came from.

An Cory, talked to the wife. She says the person told you right, but you can get the points..basically if your a regular enough. She used one of the truck drivers that comes here as an example. He stays 2 nights a week while on his run, at her hotel. They give him his points, an he's also CLC. It's basically uo to the hotel, she says. If you stayed at her's she'd see to it you got your points for the stay.

I actually started with the hotels, and then mentioned the other things. Sirscrap the hotels still come outa my pay, I just noticed the outa pocket part, when I first started with this company I had to have enough cash on me to be able to cover fuel and hotels for over a week before I got paid. Then we got the clc card and it took a lot less financial planning. I like the hotel points and the free tools from autozone, but I'm really excited about the oil caps, I bet I thrown away 20, just found the site a couple days ago and have already logged enough for a $5 card and only need a few for a $25 red lobster card and should have that many by the end of the week.

Edit: sirscrap we was typing at the same time, I hope one day I get over there. I checked and the clarion is on hers to, I stayed there 3 nights and checked my card today and 0 points. Also sir, I'll be going thru sikeston Sunday Monday or Tuesday and I'm gonna see if Brojer is there when I get a better idea, I'm a little sorry to rub it in

I'ma take your advice on the oil caps. I know a few shops to stop by, as you suggested.

Thanks for the tip. I don't do autozone enough for the rewards. I do have one near me tho. We finally got one last year. Ha ha!

An I hear ya on the CLC an outta pocket. Lest your not paying rack rate.

Sirscrapalot - Might just get Cory out this way with enough incentive.
