I was just reading a recent thread that I was going to reply to, but it was marked closed. It was one about piano removal. Was it closed because it is a subject well covered in previous threads?

Could be many reasons. I was curious about the CL one being closed, but figure..they got their reasons.
One of those great mysteries of life Burly!
Sirscrapalot - Top o'tha morning!
Posts got deleted and thread closed because of "sniping". I agree with the closing but maybe we can stay on the topic. I'll open it again.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
Thanks, Mick! Another mystery solved!
I'll try not to "snipe" at anybody. ;-)
It'd be nice if others would do the same. Got issues with people, take it private people. This public drama of late, is getting rather tiresome.
Take the high road, or go private if you gotta have a pissing contest with each other. Saves me from having to read it an the mods from having to close a perfectly good thread, cause people would rather act like a buncha 12 year olds. I really enjoyed that CL thread.
Sirscrapalot - Here to learn to make more money, an friendly banter. Not for drama an pissing matches.
Hey, Mick, does anybody ever get the boot for being nasty? (I DO miss talking about Skippy, though!)
What is this mysterious CL thread of which disappeared?
Best of CL thread. Guess someone got to being grumpy in it. It was there for a good long time, then it was suddenly closed. I can only take guesses on why.
I only brought up cause Burly was asking in general. It was a good thread, filled with silly ads from Craigslist.
Sirscrapalot - Really wanted that lava floor.
Hey taterjuice, I know you want an answer from Mick, but since you made me pause and google it, I might as well tell you what I found:
"snipe [verb]: to attack a person or a person's work with petulant or snide criticism, especially anonymously or from a safe distance."
(Sort of like the other definition of "snipe" -- "to shoot at individuals as opportunity offers from a concealed or distant position")
I just wanted to say, that for the most part of all the forums I visit this is by far the most professional, and the level of self moderation is commendable. Not only is sniping minimal but there are not endless 700 pots arguments. Amazing, especially considering what the general public tends to think about us neanderthals.
