Easy Money

So i have a junkyard about 10 miles from me that i like to visit every other week. Its a high capacity yard with a very fast turn over rate so there is always a couple hundred new cars every time i go. It costs $1 to get in and i go digging through these cars for anything people may have left behind. Today i was able to get about 20 sets of keys (all brass), a few new lighters, and about $10 in loose change (after i went through about 400 cars). The yard doesnt care about these things that i take and im always there buying parts from them anyways. If youre bored one day, i highly suggest trying this. Its actually a lot of fun

I kind of did that at first. Especially since my yard has a pre 1980s section... They get me with that EVERY time

I've spent many hours over the last 3 years at a local pull-a-part yard getting parts for my sons 91 explorer. Found a lot of change and tools left in vehicles among other things that I didn't want to touch. These yards are great and the prices are really good. I replaced my SIL's drivers side door on her car for 80 bucks. No dents, power window, mirror and locks. Red door on a black car.

Hey. Whatever works. Those older Explorers are hard to find up here. I think my yard only has 2 or 3. Very good prices though. I think an electric door costs $60 with the guarantee.

It is a lot of fun. This yard has everything from Jaguars to 1950s Chevys. Even has a medium and heavy duty truck section and tractors. I could spend all day there and still not see every vehicle

I need a scrapping buddy to do fun things like this. Maybe I can post a personals ad on craigslist:
