People pay money to drink tea with cats!

Got to go and set this up here LOL! Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium |

    From the site,

"We are very excited to open up our bookings system to all you cat-lovers out there! If you’re trying to make a booking and it doesn’t seem to be working, there are two possible reasons:

We are fully booked until early June 2014. It may well be that there are no seats available for the date you wish to visit!
Although you may be selecting a day where seats are available, it may be that there are not enough available for the booking you wish to make. We have a number of cosy armchairs for 1, and sometimes only one seat remains and shows as available in the booking system.
    Here’s some fine print:

Our operating hours are 11am-11pm, with the last group admitted at 9pm. Numbers are limited so as to not overwhelm the cats.
Sessions run for 2 hours and there is a cover charge of 5.00 per person. This does not include any food or drink.
    Session times are:
    11:00am, 11:15am, 11:30am
    1:15pm, 1:30pm, 1:45pm
    4:15pm, 4:30pm, 4:45pm
    6:30pm, 6:45pm, 7:00pm
    8:45pm, 9:00pm
Children under the age of 8 are not permitted. The cats are afraid of very young children, as a general rule. Especially Romeo, the big scaredy cat!
There is a 5.00 cover charge, per person. This charge ensures the best medical care and nutrition for the cats, training for staff, and allows us to run a cafe with fewer guests at a time. Rather than rely on lots of people cramming in, we charge a cover charge to ensure that the Emporium is a peaceful place for cats and guests alike."

Well. That certainly is interesting. Actually, if that's a cat sanctuary, that's a clever way to run it.

Sounds fishy to me.. maybe the cat lady needs some company other than the multiple cats. Unless there is free scrap involved, there's no way i'm drinking tea with a cat lady.

I just went and read about it. It's entirely crowdsourced, which is impressive. A lot of people were pulling very hard to make this happen. Apparently it's a huge craze in Japan, and this is London's first. I wish them well.

I just found this in 'similar threads' and decided to refresh it. I didn't see it first time.

Note, the black and white cat 'Carbonelle' is quoted as 'chirping' when vocal.

This is something I have noticed about black and white cats, they squeakle squorkle and chirp when vocal.
    Anyone else notice this?

There is what used to be a Germain restaurant in N Omaha that has been there since I was a kid it is still there but, now serves bar b q and oysters and the worst $12 Mc Donalds Hanburger I ever tasted. I has huge picture windows. people have geen going there for at least 65 years just to watch the cats, birds, and racoons eat the scraps out side the windows. They do let the cats in but won't let them climb on the tables or bar.
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"

I have noticed a lot of interest in cats on this forum, but this is a little different. Then Sirscrap throws the pics up there. I thought I had it figured out, but.....hmmmm. Ok, I think I got it. First one is a medium domestic, second is foreign or Chrysler cat hard to tell from this angle, last one is definitely a regular breadloaf, but what is that black and white one? It could be a half cat, Ford pre cat , even aftermarket....I need to hear it to figure it out. Soo confused.

$5 each doesn't seem like too bad of a price for tea with cats though, if you get to take one home.
