    2am in the morning...

Its 10til 2am. I have been trying to go to sleep but it seems like everything want to keep me up so *started pandora once again* and thought I would post this as I thought it was funny...

My dog who sleeps at the bottom of my bed is snoring and making the puppy yipes and moving her legs as if shes running as cute as that is...I wish I was able to be the same deep sleep but she sure is having fun.

I'm just happy that the owl that was out my window some where who was hooting like hell is gone now but the sun will be cracking up soon.

But some of us do have hard time sleeping so what do you do when the sheep just will not come to your bed?

I do a lot of thinking and relaxing. sometimes jump on the laptop and catch up on e-mails and other fun things like that.

Also if you know a good trick to get sleep when sleep is hiding from you...please share lol

you most likely have a light form of PTSD from your traumatic experience of being on top of the world and falling off.

PTSD is something I am intimately familiar with. It is also something I believe, only you can deal with. For over 30 years the VA pumped me full of grocery bags of drugs, sent me to psychologists and psychiatrists and the only effect that had was to loose me my second amendment rights with a Psyco jacket.

You just have to put on your big boy pants and deal with it. (sry , a little tough love).

When you think of moving on to new horizons, your subconscious drags up your bad experience with out your conscious mind knowing it and says no you will fail just like last time.

In my case I constantly have to battle the fear of success, because my subconscious says I don,t deserve it. You just have to be aware of it and move on, deal with it on a daily basis.

Face the fire,Lace up your brogans, put on your flack jacket, lock and load, and move out. You will find the excitement of the next fire fight will erase the worry's and regrets of the last one.

Try dairy products. Ice cream will put me to sleep every time / even during the day or driving down the highway (oops) !
Remember how a big meal makes you tired and sleepy? Defy good advice and eat a big meal just before bedtime.
A hot cup of milk might work for you....that's what I grew up being taught.

When i couldnt sleep i would go on youtube and watch trian fanatic videos. That noise of click click, clack clack helped and watching the slow moving train go past over and over agian.

yeppers, got the same prob. If I take enough lyrica and Hydro to ease it I turn into a Zombie so the only thing that helps is , every two weeks I get 4 shots of lidocane in my spine. It hurts like He** for about 30 seconds each but I,m good to go for about 3 days.check into it.

Ever noticed ALL night tossing and turning then 10 mins before you need to get-up ........Could sleep for a week.......NO...........

Best way is to tell the wife that you can't sleep unless she 'tires you out' .....It's never worked for me but i hope you have better luck with it..

A beer or three works for me BUT the 2AM bathroom visit ruins that......

As you tell your children ........'Just shut your eyes and go to sleep'......YEA RIGHT!

Taglineless posts ....It's the way forwards.

Easy, check out cryotherapy for your pain and inflammation. I was talking with a former trainer for the Canadian Womens Olympic Hockey team, she swears by it. Apparently, it's use has really taken off - especially with pro athletes. Non-drug methods of controlling your pain will help your sleep situation.

Sounds like you guys need a chiropractor. I became a believer in them at age 12. Right now my rib is out of place and I need to go see Dr today if possible. I don't have a sleep problem. If anything, I'd like to be able to scrap the mid afternoon nap, but then I can work til dark if I get one.

I have been going to a chiropractor a few times a week right now and he is doing a great job! An age 12?? what did you do at age 12? (this sounds like it will be a good story)

I concur with what oldude said. He described me every night. I still haven't found an answer to my sleep issues. I can lay in bed for hours and nothing. I also suffer from pain everyday and I'm done with the painkillers.... Makes me so sick. I will take some melatonin, or if I can find it some iSleep from meijers, and drink some whiskey it's a toss up if it works or not. I would also shy away from sleeping pills such as Ambien. I once woke up in the garage swinging an axe at an electric motor........ my wife says I did a lot of weird things while on it, plus, already suffering from depression, it increased it....so no more of that. It's best to try and get your body to rest naturally. You'll continue to get stronger and if you are on prescriptions for sleep, it could make it harder to do that. This is just a bump it the road for you. You'll get there. And when you do, you'll be stronger(not necessarily physically), wiser and be able to succeed easier(pun intended ha). Good luck
