Any gearheads among us 1999 gmc seria v-8
truck shut down on me fuel problem {not out of fuel) pump is pumping pressur good at injector bar clean honeycom at air intake
clean air filter changed fuel filter (dirty fuel in filter) still got weak idle wont take any peddle any ideas will be helpful

Maybe some sort of safety relay that shuts down could be faulty.

This is one thing I would certainly check if you have good fuel pressure. All you have to do is unscrew the O2 sensor before the cat and pull it out (you don't need to disconnect, just let it hang). I've had this problem on 2 different vehicles. You won't always get a check engine light, my chevy didn't throw a code.
The second thing I would check is for a vacuum leak.
The third thing is injector clogged.
I would bet this is likely one of your problems.

I'm a Ford guy but the fords & GM trucks are a lot alike. You'd have to see what they call it in chevy language but there's something called the curb idle valve on a ford. It gets plugged up with crap and will give you a poor idle. You might want to pop the distributor cap and check the spindizzy to see if any of the contacts are badly burnt. Maybe some condensation in there too ?
If all else fails, and you can't think of anything else to check, pull the ECM and look for any burnt spots on the board.

I was thinking along the lines of the IC chip inside of the distributor, but you mentioned it still idled.
If your motor gets a little too warm it'll blow the chip and shut all electrical down to the sparkplugs. I towed one of my pulling trucks back from
Michigan after it shut down with a big load of pontoons on, took it to my engine guy and he started it right up and drove it into the garage. I stood there dumbfounded till he explained the chip was damaged and the next time it got warm again it would shut back down, just like you turned the key off. Can't remember the name of the chip but it's right to the backside (inside) of the GM dist. screwed to the flat plate. My truck was an '86. 350 c.i.

On the road again fuel pump was out getting the ole truck back on the road is almost as good sex .... Who am i trying to fool better
than sex at my house we into hllway sex here yall know what that is. All the scrap i been having to pass up hurts my ole scraping heart just today had to pass up a washer and dryer a roll of hog wire and some fence post and wire. Dont tell the ole lady but did manage to get small load in the honda wagon from winn dixie dumpster

if you are getting dirty looking or funky smelling gas up to your carberetor...id try adding an inline filter as close to the carb as you can....you may be able to add a filter then clean it out many many times and get rid of your problem....as much as i hate to say it you may need to drain your tank......
have you put gas from a junk car in your tank latley....i never do this anymore...i always used to but after a few bad deals i quit....if junk car gas looks and smells new i will save it for the push mower but i never put it in my vehicle anymore
