    Editing threads and posts

I was reading a thread the other day and as with some it got off topic. I'm not complaining, it happens and sometimes it's fun. I know I can go back and edit a post I made but after a while I'm not able to. I'm wondering if it's possible to remove certain comments that other members have made on a thread I created.

This ability is probably reserved for the moderators. If you have a concern there is a way of reporting a post so a moderator can make a call on it. I have seen moderators put a thread back on course when it is hijacked. When someone does a Y in the road I have also seen other members redirect to the original intent.

The constitution protects freedom of speech in public venues including forums. Although a comment might not be appreciated by the starter of a thread, they do not have the right to control different thoughts or opinions. Enough said, otherwise I would be guilty of hijacking a thread.

Patriot is right on this, find the report button (below your avatar, little triangle) and submit and we'll look it over to see if it can be put back on track or is a complete derailment. lol

The constitution dose not protect you on a privetly held forum. You are at the discretion of the owner. If you pay to be on the site you are aforded other rights than if you don't, but that is even limited to the terms and conditions of the forum.

I'm not a lawyer so I can be corrected.

You make a good point. Is this a public or private forum? I know posts will be deleted if the topic is religion or politics. And by the way, I love Duck Dynasty. Must be a conservative Christian Redneck at heart. Opps........ Thanks Pjost for the road into derailment.

I'm guilty of hijacking a thread or two (even more). On occasion can get off topic without even trying. Maybe a day, week or even a year later reading through old post, see something I commented on. Saying to self, "how stupid can you be". So a little self examination can help with this topic. Making a better forum for all.

pjost - thanks for the demo. Simple and to the point.
