When you drive by a burnt up house and think about how much you could get for all of the scrap instead of are the people are ok. Same with car accidents.
When you anticipate changing the oil in your truck so you can scrap the oil filter. Same with brake parts.
You might be a scrapper if your friends ask how much something is worth in scrap then laugh.
You might be a scrapper if your GF asks if she can go scrapping with you, but can't because there is scrap all over the seat.
If you've calculated how much money you could get from scrapping your house, you might be a scrapper.

if you often find your self adding up the metal value in waiting rooms, at dr offices ,emergency rooms, and any other place where you have to set more than a few minutes waiting on something
If a scrap yard employee tells you he saw your trailer come through a few days earlier when your friend borrowed it, you might be a scrapper.
If you drink sodas from cans instead of bottles for a motive other than taste, you might be a scrapper.

****You drive home from work and detour through back alleys...
****Your wife goes shopping and you wonder whats out the back of the store....
****seeing rusty iron gets your mojo up 'cause it had to be sitting for a while to rust and so might be available....
****When shopping the flea markets and yard sales you don't even see the item...just the metal its made out of...
****You'll stand your pickup on its nose on the freeway to stop and grab an exhaust pipe on the side of the road 'cause it might have a cat attached...
****You pick up the smallest piece of trash when out on a walk, but only if it has metal in it....
****You dream of scrapping heavy copper wire....
****You can look at an old washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, or TV on the curb and know to the nearest quarter what it is worth to you.
****You can look at those white goods listed above and know pretty much which ones contain copper and which ones contain aluminum in the motors and transformers.
****You consider yourself blessed when your wife wants to see your scrap haul for the day...
