I was in 7-11 earlier this evening an thought of this thread as a young fella was turning out his pockets looking for change to pay for his coffee. I'm friends with the cashier and she asked me on the DL if I had any extra change to help him. I told her no, but the coffee is on me an to just throw it on my tab. Didn't have any coins hence the needing to pay for it with my stuff.

That young guy..early 20's maybe, must have thanked me 50 times. Asked if he could pay me back an I just said pay it forward man, somebody somewhere will be in need of a little help someday like he was. He still promised to buy me a drink if he ever saw me out an about having dinner.

It was nice helping him out an he was appreciative of it.

Last week I was filling the wife's car up when a chevy caprice rolled up two pumps down. It had a new paint job and double deuce rims. There were two guys in the front and some chick in the back. They gave me a real tough look like they wanted to fight and then the girl popped out a limped over and said "Excuse me sir, I was wondering if you could fill up my car with your credit card. I know you don't have cash and I am not asking for money, but if you could swipe your card we could fill up". I was thinking, FILL UP A CHEVY CAPRICE ARE YOU F)(&^%*(^&$%*^%#%KING NUTS!!! I said can't do it. the nerve!!!!

Where I live you cant go a day without at least one person asking for change. Its always the same people, they usually say they need change for the bus, etc always in odd amounts and even if someone gives them the exact amount they still ask someone else for more. I know for a fact that theyre all crackheads with a couple alcoholics mixed in and the worst part is most of them are young kids around my age. Theres a bottle redemption center a couple blocks away and the scrap yard is about a 30-40 minute walk from here but these guys are just lazy and want a quick and easy fix.

On the other hand, one time I was in Manhattan with my mom, this guy was asking for money with a sign saying he was hungry. We bought him some food and the guy couldnt believe it, the look on his face was stunned and he gave us one of the most sincere "thank you's" Ive ever heard.
