Why don't you just unload the trailer until you get a bigger load?

The trailer is being lent to you as a favor, just like it is being lent to your uncle. You shouldn't be mad about this, whether or not your uncle is really an a-hole.

Just remember in life, things change, priorities change. His lathe is no more important than your scrap, you can sell your scrap at any time, if he just bought the lathe then he really does need to get it picked up and brought home.
How much do you get for boards locally?

Really don't understand why you would be pissed about selling your scrap. I for one, am happy to sell mine.

Blake: buddy, pal. You need an attitude adjustment.

From what I can gather, all you do is piss and moan when things don't go your way. Guess what, there's a lot more to life than feeling sorry for yourself and having a pity party every other day.

I know right now you think you are going to live forever, and these little setbacks are major events in your life, but you're not and they aren't. Life is short and you can't spend your whole existence being negative. Nobody wants to be around negative people, except other negative people. You have a long miserable life ahead of you if all you do is focus on the bad stuff.

Are there any positive things in your life? Of course there are. You are making money at age 14. Your parents and grandparents love you. You like to hunt. You got a good head on your shoulders. Everyone on this forum wants to see you succeed. See all the positives I can come up with? And I've never even met you!!!

Now, your homework assignment is to come up with 5 more POSITIVE things, and post them on this thread. And I'm not kidding. Do it.
Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.

I think my tough love approach is rubbing off on PJ.

I applaud you sir, well said an hopefully the young lad will understand this is to help him, an not to hurt him.

Also..I second what PJ said..all of it, but also the part about wanting to see you succeed. Remember that, we're all here to help but..your way to young to be developing this view of your family an the world. Your uncle isn't perfect nor is anyone else...with the exception of maybe me. (Yes..thats a joke folks..I'm far from it.)

Sirscrapalot - If I was anymore humble I'd be perfect. - Not me

If you need exclusive rights to a trailer, I'd bet that you could afford it.

    Get one of these:

I paid $200 for mine. It didn't exactly break the bank.

I'd hardly call somebody an "A-Hole" for using their own trailer. He owns it- promised to you or not. His lathe needed to be picked up. Scrap metal can sit in a pile. Trust me- my yard looks like the one in Sanford and Sons.

Seriously, I'd work on pjost's assignment. When I was 15, I worked to get a truck. I was up until 3AM, fixing computers, and went to school at 7:30. My grandfather was dying right in front of my eyes. He didn't know who we were. My mother and I worked all night to take care of him. I wanted the truck, so I could transfer to another school (No bus service to us from them). I was being bullied- by my teachers. The computer teacher was the only one that I really got along with. I remember waking up at 2:30 (fell asleep at my desk), and going back to work. My health went downhill then. I'm better now, but doing all-nighters for a year took a lot out of me. I was finally able to send a truck my father abandoned to the mechanics I trusted. I was stiffed, and had to buy another truck (I later fixed the firsts truck myself- those mechanics were awful!)

Yet, every day, I was way happier than you are. I had a loving family, decent enough health, and knew that God was looking out for me. Those hard two years made me who I am today. I wouldn't trade those "miserable" years for anything.

I found a way to be happy. That's what got me through it. When I bought my F150, I was on cloud nine. It wasn't much of a truck, but I had slaved away for the longest time, and I had finally succeeded!

You need to be happy. Find a way.

So here is my advice. I agree 100% with all the other posters discussing happiness. Only YOU can make YOU happy. It is a state of mind. If you are seeking more-- work to get more.. simple as that!

When I was in my youth I wanted to leave my home state. I had a girlfriend in High School that I spent every nickel on. When it ended I went through the normal- anger, jealousy, sadness.. but I set a goal- I wanted out of where I was- I wanted to spread my wings and SOON! I was 19 at the time. I knew the only way to be "Free" was to build my bank.

I worked 2 and 3 jobs. (Minimum wage was $4.25 at that time) I worked factory jobs in the summer- it was mind numbing- but I kept my eyes on the prize. I started literally with nothing but my first week's paycheck from that moment. And I set a goal- "$10 G's by 22" was my mantra. I ate it, slept it, breathed it. Nothing was going to stop me from doing it. It was when I started scrapping too- aided in my goals. By my 22nd Birthday I had $15K in the bank. To me $ = Freedom. Still to this day I have what I call my "F*ck You Money" When a job was going to crap.. when I got let go because I wouldn't lie cheat and steal for the boss from customers and got fired- I didn't worry. I always knew the pile of "F*ck You Money" was there to fall back on.

I've gone through hell and back more than once. I made a choice to grab this world by the B@LLS and work to get it! I could have sunk down and felt bad for myself.. but that just isn't how God wired me.

My story may mean nothing.. you may get a nugget of goodness out of it! But you can do it man.. The world is an oyster- Crack that sucker wide open! If you run into situations of crap with bosses, or the rest of the world-- keep this phrase in your mind at all times as I have: "5 years from now- I won't even remember your blanking name!"

Life is a marathon.. not a sprint!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I could have had one for $150. It was a short bed, though. Any self respecting man wants longer equipment
