I use greendot all the time for my card. They are just the loaders of the card, your card will come from someone else..like accountnow, or another company.
In the future use a prepaid visa the ones that won't come with your name on it. If I recall you need to register it online to use it for purchases online.
Once you get the card with your name on it tho, it's awesome. Lest for me. You'll be able to hit up Walmart, CVS an several others an they'll put the money directly on the card with one swipe. Other places you'll need to buy the card separate(same fee as if they swiped it on for you 4.95).
Hopefully they won't kill you. You can also do a search for sites to watch tv for free. I use one I like. Tween it, Netflix an my crappy cable company I never go without something for the wife to watch or me to catch up on the little tv I do watch.
Good luck an don't be so hard on them, their just trying to protect you with the name on the card thing.
Edit: If you end up with accountnow there is a monthly fee unless you do direct deposit..10 bucks I think is the fee. I just pay the fee an go about my business. Don't know how the other companies do it. I know there is one out that charges per transaction(first 15 if I recall right) or a 10.00 monthly fee. Other then that i don't know how the others work, I don't usually look anymore. I've been with account now for..about 10 years..maybe a touch longer. First 7 I didn't worry about the fee, since I did direct deposit.
