    "Stealing" garbage

I was getting ready to take in a load of shred yesterday, was throwing random junk I had collected over the week into the van, and some lady comes up to me and starts yelling "Whats that?!?" and I said "What?" and she says "That in the bag!" and I told her it was a stroller, to which she replied that she had put a stroller exactly like it out for garbage pick up on Friday and somebody had "robbed" it off the curb, then she started badgering me with questions on where I got it, I told her that I dont remember where I got it from, I dont rob anything from anybody and Im busy. Another time I was getting some scrap from a nursing home that had been throwing away a lot of scrap at the time, and some old lady passes by and says to me "Ah hah! Now I know whos been stealing the garbage!"

tell them, NO, I actually am a recycling company. This stuff get recycled, just like plastic bottles, only we have been doing it FAR longer. By recycling things like metals, it allows us to continue to have low priced new things, plus it actually has SOME value amazingly.
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

If something is important to somebody, they won't leave it in the trash.

If she wants to buy a stroller, offer to sell it if you wish to. Otherwise, it's metal.

Good idea, maybe educating them wil give them a less negative reaction.

I like the idea of asking if they want to buy a used one.
    Google first ask questions later!
