Just curious what y'all thought about it. Does it wipe us all out, or is it Y2K all over again.

Oh listen to Mr. Goody-two-shoes telling everyone how to live the righteous life... Real nice. LOL

In all honesty I sat in on a briefing about this last week and it is true. PROPER sanitation, PROPER hygiene and keeping YOUR parts out of other peoples INFECTED parts and you should be fine... Oh and get this... don't eat BUSHMEAT.... yes don't eat dead animals you find on the side of the road or in a field and your chances of survival increase by a factor of 100!! Africa has some problems my friends.

I think they are going to use it as super hype for something that we all don't want to talk about.

Okay ... just shoot me ... I'm kind of a granola on this one.

On the day i was born there were about 3.5 billion people in the world. Here it is about fifty years later and there are now over 7 billion people in the world.

Think of the globe as being a living, breathing, ecosystem. It can only provide enough natural resources to support a certain number of people. If it exceeds that number the mother nature will step in to correct the imbalance.

She corrects imbalances and reduces populations to sustainable levels in all animals through disease, famine, and war.

Yep .... even dumb animals go to war with other groups of animals for territory & feeding grounds. We humans are no different. (We're not above the laws of nature although we might think we are.)

Now .... look at what is going on in Africa. There's massive overpopulation. The land can't support all of the people living on that continent. There's terrible war. Famine is rampant in some areas. DISEASE is trying to get loose.

HIV / AIDS got loose and killed a lot of people. We got that one more or less contained.

Now there's Ebola. The powers that be fully understand the danger so they will do their best to contain it. They will probably succeed.

Sooner or later some virus will mutate that we can't stop and then things will have to run their course. We've had some terrible plagues in the past and we got through despite heavy losses.

No doubt we'll get through again.

(Just an opinion for whatever it's worth.)

Heard a radio commentary today that claimed the Dr. who was in Africa and got Ebola was near death until they gave him an unproven experimental IV that contained mouse blood amongst other ingredients. Read about it on the net.

Don't get me started! We once had Ellis island for just this reason. But people came by boat, so they were easy to keep track of. Now we have open borders, and people can fly in from any where. Sounds like its time to put those FEMA camps to a good use!!!

Its not going to be good, what if they stop international flights? What if they stop travel in to your state by any means (walking, car, train, plane). So much for the economy recovering! If this comes our way It wont matter whom we elected we will all have to deal with its effects.

I would like to think the two that came back here with the disease to be treated were following precautions...but somehow they still got it.

Oh and ISIS is not a threat and our Secret Service is doing a fine job.

We've seen some very dark times in our past. A horrible civil war between the north & south. The Spanish flu. WW1.The Great Depression The bombing of Pearl harbor, presidents assassinated.

Somehow we always got through didn't we ?

We just have to have faith in ourselves and be brave.

< sigh> It just seems folks are running scared these days.

The good Lord has a way of keeping everything in balance. We have the resources to counter this threat as well as of the many other challenges we face. We just need to focus, apply the resources needed, and believe in our ability to face challenges. Being in the U.S. is a bonus.

In my opinion I think Ebola is like Aids. At the time Aids scared the living sh*t out of everyone now its not so bad since we understand it and all. I think its the same with Ebola. Were scared of it because we dont understand and all we know is its killing people and making them "Resurrect". The only reason its hitting Africa hard is think about the living conditions and their everyday life. Its not like America,Canada,England,France, and all the other 1st world countries. They dont live in there own houses or big cities like we know of. Most of them live in crappy little villages like they have been since the beginning of time(Not trying to be a **** or anything). They all live in the same little hut in really bad heat conditions which make them sweat and since they are cramped in a hut together, it just allows Ebola to spread quicker throughout the village.

As long as you dont come in direct contact with body fluids youre alright. Its just another scare tactic to get people on edge just like ISIS, etc. Seems to me theyre actually trying to bring it over here by bringing these patients with ebola here.

"She looked up me with pus in her eyes
    her ears started to bleed,
    I don't know why.
    ebola......"

I was reading today about the size of Africa and people worrying about their daughter going to south Africa.
She says, "Don't worry, because where I'm going is furthur away from the out break than Spain is"
Just to give you a idea of the size of Africa. Its not what it shows up as on maps.

There were ebola outbreaks in the late 90's in Africa. Mad cow in England, other outbreaks too.
If its gonna kill us, its going to sneak up on us.

It attacks the liver, so anyone with a damaged liver is less likely to survive. Less drunks driving. Curbside shopping may be too dangerous.
