    Baseball & October

Well I for one like October, Halloween next to Turkey Day my two favorite holidays. Nights are cooler, in southern Cal. we now at least have "mist" in the forecast (rain would be nice). A sports fan (I am) has it all, football, hockey, basketball and BASEBALL. Now it would have been better if the Dodgers were still in it, maybe next year. The Angels were swept by KC, but KC just set a post season record, winning seven games in a roll in post season. Been a few years for KC (1985), so congratulations KC. As for the rest of baseball I'm on their side, won't be the Giants, as I bleed Dodger "blue" and Royal "blue" is close enough!

As being a Chicago White Sox fan, Im glad the royals made it, a team from the A.L. Central in the series. No Boston or New York this year.

Arghh ! My beloved Orioles dropped like a anchor in the sea or matador in the fantasy football rankings . My hats off to k.c. I got to attend game 2 . But the sting of not seeing the Orioles make the World Series is to fresh . Man it was a great year , I hope we don't lose more than 2 players to the evil pin stripes . Hopefully we can go as deep or further next year.

Congrats to he k.c. Nation and fans I know you guys have been waiting awhile to be there , now make the most of it so I can say well at least we lost to the champs !

    Hey!

I can't be dropping. I've always been in last place! You don't call the Chicago Cubs "dropping", now do you?

I saw the Royals 2 years ago at Kauffman Stadium playing Tampa Bay (Royals won 7-4). That was the highlight of my trip. Ever since then, I've kind of been a Royals fan.

    Go Royals!

It’s been so much fun to watch the Royals this postseason. If my Evil Empire Yanks aren’t in it, I love to see the underdogs go to town.

It must be so great to be a KC die-hard fan right now.

Iv'e been a Dodger fan literally since I can remember, my dad took me to my first game in 1965. It was a game to never forget, Koufax pitched a no hitter against the Cubs! So the Dodgers and the Cubs have been in my brain since. I always liked to watch the Cubs, on TV here on the west coast, liked all those day games they had. Harry Caray was one of the all time great announcers and his famous 7th inning singing! I will always say Vince Scully is the best at calling a game, he always makes it seem like your at the ballpark. My brother and I actually met him at the old Astrodome and in person he's a class act!

So blue is my color for baseball, that's the Royals as well, so go K.C. Besides no honest Dodger fan would dare root for the Giants, not in my house anyway. This year I don't think they are underdogs and in post season play, it's been like a walk in the park so far!

I think K.C. can forget about sweeping the Giants as they have been there 3 out of last 5 years now. The two teams match up with almost identical regular season stats. Giants went 88 and 74, with Royals going 89 and 73, K.C. has a slight edge with team batting average. Both teams have almost identical stats, as far as the ones that count. RPG for the Giants 4.0 and K.C. at 4.1, ERA Giants 3.50 and K.C. 3.51. SHOULD BE A GOOD WORLD SERIES. Sorry East Coasters and N.Y.C./Boston unless you really like baseball, this series won't have much for you!

While I'm at it New York sports fans, you had a really bad last week; G-men got a can of you know what done to them. The Jets showed up, but still another big "L". G-men play at Dallas this Sunday, with the Cowboys just getting a good win at Seattle. This may just be another bad week! Maybe Jets will rest up and put it all together, beat up on Bills in another week, still New York bummer week! Might want to watch old movies and avoid ESPN.

Helpful hint when Raiders anything comes up I head for my bar and avoid the TV for next five minutes.

I don't want to poop on your thread BigBurt, but I also didn't want to start another sports thread. Lol
I am sitting here flipping between my Minnesota Wild vs. Tampa Bay and the World Series.
Watching the hockey game I saw a goal, a fight, and lots of back and fourth action.
Flip over to the baseball game , and the same guy is still batting!!!
    Just saying.
