Just own up to it. Be proud of the fact you find $$ where others dont. Knowledge is power.. Keep learning and growing and soon those people will fade away

Get used to being teased.

Its better than explaining exactly what you do and how much money you make from it.

Then finding your sources dry up, because everyone you told that too.....
Is now a 'scrapper'......

My friends always ask, why do you have that? Where did you get that? Whay are you going to use it for? Well I buy weird stuff because it sells, I buy large amounts of computers because it sells. I do it because I enjoy it. And now most the time if people are looking for something they come to me and ask me first, and then I will sell it to them or trade it for more scrap. It has gotten to a point that my truck has pictures in the yearbook with pipes and misc scrap hanging out of the back. Down side is they edited out my magnetic sign that had my scrap info and number instead people just leave their cans in the bed, about 2# a week just for showing up to school. And then the misc wire and odds and ends i find walking around throughout the day.

Get used to the teasing. I've been there.

I used to add oil and fight with the battery terminal on my truck in the parking lot of the school. One day, my car wouldn't start (Dead battery), so I drove my box truck to school that day. That got me some looks!

My clothing came from a clothing recycler, and still does. I taped my glasses together for a week when I had to. I brown bagged leftovers every day.

If they don't like me, that's their problem. I was happy, and that's all that matters. I was laughing when I parked the box truck. I only wish that I had a sign on the side of it

Enjoy the simple things in life. They're the most fun.

Ignore what your peers think of your money making ventures. While they're slaving away at some burger joint being told "if you got time to lean you have time to clean." you are your own boss.

Start saving your money and when you get your license and can drive to school show up in a classic muscle car bought from your scrap earnings. Or just a new truck that you can mention, "bought with my own money, Mommy and Daddy didn't buy it for me."

i wont advise you to go around flashing your checks from the scrap yard.

ppl get jealous & can do mean things.

learn to absorb all the insults & comments
then pour it all into your work

if anyone thinks ur dumb/stupid cos u collect scrap
then let them think ur stupid

I have watched a few of your videos and I'll say, you carry yourself like someone that has been doing it a lot longer than you have been. And isn't your truck paid for? I thought i read that a little while back. You are WAY ahead of your peers. Good work man.
