Cool Cheap Gas!! $2.82 a gallon!

woot very happy filling up today. The gas stations i fill up at are called "Country Fair" and the one by 1-79 and preque isle casino has the cheapest in Erie, so coincidentally close to my house.. anyways the regular price is $2.92 a gallon but if you go in the store and use a gas card instead you save $0.10 on every gallon. So i filled up the truck today for $2.82 a gallon.. payed $20... filled half the tank and filled the whole truck with scrap! Cheers

I talked with my grandpa about why the gas prices are so low.. he told me about an oil reserve in North Dakota that has lots of oil and is threatening the oil buisness of the saudi's, so the saudi's are selling it dirt cheap to keep the oil buisness in the U.S.. hence the cheap gas prices. Idk if this is true, but I could believe it. Yay for cheap gas!

Gas is down to around $2.66 at the HEB by my house. I'm waiting for it to start going back up again, but keep hustling as much as you can while its down!

You guys are lucky! I filled up the Chevrolet for our E-Waste event. The cheapest gas in the whole area (We traveled in 2 counties) was $3.319 for 85 octane.

It was at $3.70 all summer though, so I'll take it.

I went through Erie about a week and a half ago and 2.5 weeks ago and it was at around $2.98 both up and back to NY to visit the fam.. It was AWESOME!
Indiana had the highest prices sans NY.. Once we hit the NY border it's always bad.. but it wasn't as bad on the Thruway as I anticipated.. Think it was $3.18 on the NYS thruway.
We spiked up to $3.09 here from about $2.82 low a few days back.

In NewZealand, that gallon would co$t you US$5.60........

    Or NZ$8.00. Its NZ$2.14 a litre here

Our minimum wage is NZ$13.50 a hour though.

(My math maybe a little off. Here, a 44 gallon drum contains 210 litres, and our $ is worth US0.70 cents..)

The low prices has to do with a bearish commodities market. Metals, grain, oil all down. One commodity thats up for now is beef last few years were a perfect storm to make the prices spike for now. In one to two years they will go down too if grain stays low like it is.

All it will take is the fear of something or an outright wold scale event for prices to go back up in a heartbeat.

I wish I had a way to store fuel on a larger scale.

$3.12 here at a new Mobil station. I usually gas up at the smaller independant stations but I can pass up these prices. Haven't seen it this low in about 3 years.

The news media must be looking to boost prices on grain then.. Our local just ran a whole story the other day about how Pasta prices shall skyrocket because of the low grain yields.

As they say.. "Buy on Rumor.. sell on fact" right?

How many of you were driving back when gas was $1 a gallon and you could fill up BEFORE paying?

Saudi Arabia and OPEC have something to do with it, but so does ISIS or ISIL as the our government refers to them. Just like everything else, its a matter of supply and demand. I hadn't heard about the new discovery in Nebraska, obviously that would also drop prices. From what I've heard they are making $1,000,000 per day to fund their cause by selling off oil below what the world markets value is. I hope that the prices level off and stay at the current rate. Saudi Arabia and the other countries in OPEC are still making billions for their economies, and it would help our economy grow as well.

One of my first jobs as a young man ?? was at a full service gas station where we would; Wash the windows, check the air in the tires, check the oil and other fluids, all for only .29 a gal.

Now your lucky if you can get someone behind the counter to help you in a timely manner.

When I was on vacation this Summer way up in the middle of nowhere in MI the gas station said "pump first then pay" I was dumbfounded to say the least.

Ha.. Ain't that the truth.. Tonight I was at a station and paid in cash.. the lady in front of me was owed .27 cents change, cashier gives her the quarter and says "I don't have any pennies" I get up there and my total is $5.97 and I give her $6.. she says "Do ya want the pennies back..cause I don't have none" I said "Don't worry about it" at the same millisecond I look down and see a ROLL of FREAKIN Pennies in the drawer (you all know that spare change space that is past the quarters) Yup.. that was called "Too **** lazy to break the penny roll so she won't have to count them at the end of the night when she totals out her drawer!"

Gas is down to $3.43 per gallon, we have a long ways to go, wholesale prices are way down here in southern Calif. I think they are going even lower. They have been kept high to please the Saudi's and that is over!

When I was a kid my mom would give me a quarter for my mini-bike and I would ride that thing for hours on that quarter, the good ole days!

LOW GAS PRICES ? I can understand the brain washing if some of you younger folks but am very surprised at some others. The administration list my inflation rate over the last 8 years at 0 to 1.55% per year 3 years in a row at 0, this according to my social security ck. If that is the case then why is fuel 98% higher then when this administration took office. at the change of administration fuel price was $1.88.

Oh and by the way the other guys arnt any better. This thread exactly how its done.

Nailed it. I'm not near as old as you, but I know from just plain old observation that this country's government likes to get people used to a bad situation then give us a little taste of something a little "better" just so we accept the new "norm".
All the excuses they give just don't make sense. Why isn't it good enough for "the elite"(as it were) to make 100 million a year? Why raise the prices and now make $200 million, doesn't make sense, if prices were up because of supply and demand or up organically, they wouldn't be making more would they?, I believe in capitalism, but I don't want to be raped blind because of it either. But to be fair here...in Benny's lifetime, the price of gas he is getting is good for his generation as they don't know anything else. So he has the right to be excited.

Unlike my opponent, I will not let oil companies write this country's energy plan, or endanger our coastlines, or collect another $4 billion in corporate welfare from our taxpayers.
Barack Obama-----I post this quote to highlight how much poo comes out of our "leaders" mouths and this dude could fertilize every farm in America.

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.
