In 2113 the US produced more oil than it has in 23 years, 2014 looks to be even better. For the last 3 years OPEC oil has been over $100 a barrel on the world market, it's going to go below $90 and may even go to $80 by this time next year. Why, well we are going to produce more and as always politics has to have input! Globally and domestic, where would be without politicians and the mighty dollar!

Oil and gas production has risen because the $/bl has been high making it economical to drill and frack. I don't think consumption has dropped much at all outside of the recession. If prices drop too much then production will drop also balancing it out.

Governments have always controlled everything important, the differences is who controls the government and what personal freedom the citizens have within that government.

I just bought 1000 gallons of gas at 2.70 a gallon. I believe gas is going to drop even further to 70 or 75 a barrel in the coming months.

I found gas yesterday for $2.37 with a discount but unfortunately it was limited to 20 gallons. Still, an extra $15 in my pocket...
