I know our rules frown on "Heated" political debate and we should not judge each other by any members political views. I agree with this 100%, lets face facts politics affects all of us. I will vote today, as I have always took this as a fundamental right of all citizens. Furthermore I'm from the belief that, if you don't use it, you can "LOOSE IT". Also I strongly believe in providing service to your country and that starts with taking part in the election process.
It will never be a perfect process or system, what or who's perfect? Our voting process has had it's injustices as our country has matured. Not allowing women or minorities to vote, huge injustice! As a person that grew up in the 60's & 70's, not allowing a person of the age of 18 to vote, was another injustice. We could go serve our country, get injured, disabled and even give our lives, but could not vote.
The twenty-sixth amendment took care of that injustice on July 1, 1971. This year South Dakota became the 43rd state to ratify that amendment. This demonstrates our system by design was meant to be a ongoing process. A process not perfect, but trying to do the best for the most.
I will vote today and would like to see some more changes. Will you and what do you think?
