dude indeed don't worry revenge is a test of patience but even better is the fact your still young and can in the work and time while saving money not paying rent (love you mom miss you a lot) a business is a whole bigger thing but a simple short term is college you could easily pay for full ride working at this and still have time for fun.
but if nothing else work hard and buy some flash like everyone else but this time collect what the others soo happily toss away

You know, living here in Northwest Arkansas I know quite a bit about Sam Walton. You know that he drove his old truck until he died. He had the cash to buy and sell everyone he came into contact with on a daily basis multiple times over. But nobody that didn't know him would have ever guessed that. He was a humble person and treated everyone he came across with respect. Even though if he wanted to, he could have been one of the biggest egotistical pricks this world has ever seen. It's not about the cash in your account, the clothes on your back, or even in the car you drive. It's all about how you carry yourself, and treat other people. Be respectful and humble and you will only be surrounded by quality people. True story.

They can treat you however they want to... the trick is how you react and respond to them. Don't give them what they may want... don't give up finish school and move on. One day you may be a caretaker in a nursing home and that teacher may show up needing help from you.

I have a similar story. A Guy in my hometown is a custom home builder. Likely, he is the wealthiest man in town. He works for his money.. none of that "point fingers and sit back and let everyone else do the work" even though he could do that- just isn't the kind of guy he is.

One day he strolled into a Mercedes dealership to purchase a car.. the young and naive salesman basically said he couldn't help him. The guy got so P.O.'d that he went down the street to the Jaguar Dealership and bought 2 Jags.. in Cash. Once the cars were polished and ready to be delivered he hooked his equipment trailer to his dually and loaded both Jags onto the trailer.

He then went down the street and pulled into the Mercedes Dealership parking lot- right out front and walked inside. He asked to talk with the owner of the dealership and his once potential salesman was on the floor. He proceeded to tell the dealer that he "Came in last week to buy a car.. but THAT guy refused to help me. So I went down the street and bought TWO new Jaguars instead!"

The Salesman was fired ON THE SPOT!

    Gawd I love that Story!

Yep, I have to second sledge's sentiment. I grew up with everything I wanted and could have had more but I've never been interested in much material wealth (I do like money though). Traveling that road, it wasn't hard to figure out that those with little have much more sense than those who have too much. Excess just makes you soft and stupid to the world around you. Never let what others think of you affect your own self esteem. Chances are pretty good they have less than you do and that's what they are trying to hide with all their shiny sh*t.

In 2001, I had a salesman at a BMW dealership turn his back on me one day as I was waiting for him to recognize my presence.
(That has happened to me a lot, as I never dress up to buy a vehicle)
I went to another dealer and bought a brand new Avalon XLS that day.
I still drive it every day.

I can't imagine he's very happy about how his legacy has turned out. And it speaks alot for how inappropriate it is to trust your own family to carry your legacy in your image and not theirs.

Let me give you the best piece of advice I know of, personally having lived through it.

Life is a lesson in futility. The only thing futile in life is the practice of complaining without changing. Never has it made a difference to the working man what the bystander thinks of it. People have pointed fingers at everything from my truck to my haircut to my military service. I get people who snicker when they see me walking around walmart with a hitch in my step because the long day has inflamed my knees. I care not what anyone thinks. The checks and deposits speak for themselves. The lessons and friendships speak even more. Never stop doing what you enjoy because someone doesn't agree with your personal ideas of happiness. Said best by Morgan Freeman, some of the happiest people in the world come home smelling to high heaven at the end of the day. I wholeheartedly agree.

Another example. If you ever watched dirty jobs you will note...lots of happy people. People who smile, and joke and work real hard for a day's pay. That is what life is about everybody. Get to loving what you do or do something else. Who gives a crap what anyone else thinks about that. Money doesn't mean much if you feel empty inside for 10 hours a day.

    Definitely.

I've noticed something- a lot of the Mercedes/BMW owners aren't happy or smiling it seems. They're usually stuck up, and look to be in a bad mood. This is true for the people that "have everything".

Take a look at someone in a clunker- they're usually very happy and kind.

Look at the people who worked for their car- be it a 20 year old Taurus or a new Mercedes. These people are some of the nicest, kindest people that you'll ever meet. They've worked hard, and they usually have respect for others who do.

If someone needs me to drive a nice car or dress differently to impress them, I have no use for those people. My first E-Waste truck was a 1992 Dakota with no inside door handle. I pulled into a large school to make my first pickup. The IT man was fully understanding. We've become very good friends since. I see him once every couple of months, and we get along very well.

Another IT person at a different school disproved of my equipment. She was later fired, and asked me about working.

I turned her down. I'll call the first guy if I need some help.

Bear in mind that i may have absolutely no idea what i'm talking about with Sam Walton but two things come to mind:

The first: Here was a guy that discovered his true will. That's just a fancy way of saying that he somehow discovered what he was meant to do in life. All of that MONEY was just a by-product of doing what he loved.

The second: On his humble nature ....perhaps he understood that we're all in the same boat. The end of our life is the great equalizer. Doesn't matter if we're the wealthiest man on the planet or the lowest bum out on the street. Eventually we're all gonna end up as worm food. Within a few generations all living memory of us will be lost and it will be as though we never even existed.

    Kinda puts everything in perspective.

very true. the company went from morality to greed as soon as he passed away. his daughters both married NHL owners and let the cash hungry office execs make decisions that not only impacted the company negatively, our entire country and economy in a negative way. a lot of the reason we have lost tens of thousands of manufacturing jobs in this country is due to their end of their moral responsibility to what made that company what it was, the american public. The legacy of integrity tied to the Walton name, was buried with Sam.

Couldn't agree more, I watched a documentry that stated as many as fifteen million jobs in america were lost to wal mart practices over the last 20 years. They went so far as to back it up with financial statements and purchase orders. Much of the FOOD you get at walmart isn't even American.

Worry not about the judgement of others. They likely don't have their own crap together and they will judge you to cover their own short comings. I have people that mock me for my business and y'know lifestyle choices. Screw 'em I make house payment off old fridges and feed my family by running scrap. Staying competitive is a cut above those who speak bull**** and judge.

Read a lot of great advice on this post but did not see a thank you much less your solution to the situation. Please let us know your course of action and the outcome.

If you cannot respond, it is assumed you are still crying in your blanket. Sorry, I am not into pity.

Teachers are not in the profession to make individuals miserable. They are not there for the money. They have personal reasons to be in the profession.

I left the profession because of government regulation. In 32 years, not one teacher stuck it to their students. More information was asked for and you did not respond. Therefore it is assumed you were on SMF instead of concentrating on your education. That was your choice. Good luck but do not ask for sympathy if you are not willing to fulfill your end of the equation.
