It's not just you.
Competition is heating up, so they're offering more. I deal with the "Usable stuff", so I only pay for some parts and systems.
A lot though are offering to pay for any elctronics.
We have a yard a couple hours from us that will pay $0.05 for any electronics, except CRTs.
There is still one company that holds out, charging for everything. They're not doing too well, though.

Going to need to do the math... If they buy whole appliances for XX vs breaking it down for XX + (time and labor)

Yeah I thought so - I was curious because it seemed alot have switched to buying whole electronics and the differences between their prices aren't anything marginal, just a different location.

A lot of my stuff is going for the $0.05. For many printers, LCD Displays, and even some of the older Macs (iMac G4), it's not worth my time to process.
The other place I mentioned charges $0.40 per pound for any electrnoics, except CRTs and CRT TVs. They charge more for them, but have a government program where recycling is subsidized for the people of the county. They look to be going under- the yard that pays is only 1 mile down the road.
They'll pay more for parts, but their prices are terrible. Gold fingered RAM is at $4.50 per pound. Even I'm higher than that!
