    Song of the Day

I don't know if this has been done here, but I thought it might be interesting to post favorite songs. Perhaps a rule to only post one song a day to give a chance to listen to them.

For today, I am going to post a version of a song I just have just heard. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have...

Cool!! I think I've heard it on the radio channel I listen to but maybe a bit shorter.

I used to listen to a secular rock station out of my medium-small metro but never got into the super heavy in-your-face semi-violent stuff although enjoyed good rock music structure. Then one day, I got into my car and the radio was on our local Christian station which can range from this speed of song to some pretty good rock ballads. I never changed the station, the wife never changed the station, the kids were too small to change the station. No one else could have gotten into my car. I didn't ask questions and the channel has been pretty much the same for 6 years...Merry Christmas!!

    I'm fine with two threads.

I heard this gem this morning. I've always been a huge ELO fan.

I should have just posted the album. Not a bad song to be found

Gilmore is amazing, no doubt, but I still miss the Floyd. There has never been anything like them in music.

I saw Pink Floyd minus Roger Waters Halloween night 1987. It was the best concert I have ever seen. It was the night, it was the concert. I saw the same show 6 months later in Orlando and wasn't even close to the show Tampa was. If the next best show I have seen were a 10, that Tampa Stadium Floyd show was a 40. I prefer Gilmore Floyd to Waters Floyd. So, if I can't have Floyd, Gilmore doing Floyd is just as good... Maybe better

You can't deny how awesome Gilmore is but I would really rather listen to the original members. After Sid of course. Never liked Sid.

Oh and Toonces the driving cat on SNL was always funny.

I would say not better or worse, but different. I saw the complete Pink Floyd several times (and yes, they were most awesome) and Gilmore's Floyd once. There has never been any argument from me that he is an amazing musician. I have seen him do things with a guitar that were amazing. However, like most of us, he has mellowed with age. I love his music but it is still not the Pink Floyd. Half the group left with the breakup as Roger Waters was the main driving force behind the original music.

Sid Barrett was an entity all to himself. No doubt, his influence on Roger Waters was huge. Still, I have listened to some of his solo stuff (after he got back on his feet) and it just does nothing for me. I always thought that the team of Waters and Gilmore was a perfect complimentary combination. I could go on for hours, as Floyd is MY group, but I will leave it here because I need to get to work...

I've seen Rodger Waters solo about 30 years ago and it would be tough to convince me he wasn't acting when he ran thru a series of songs from The Wall. I prefer Waters Floyd but Gilmore's albums are some of my favorite solo efforts and right up the with Townsend's, All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes.

Haven't been to a concert in years but was fortunate to see Page, Clapton, Stevie Ray, The Who, The Dead, Fish, and Yes multiple times...One of the loudest shows was Jethro Tull in the round.

We have one of the best places in the word to see a show...Red Rocks Amphitheater

I have only seen Yes once, in the Tampa Stadium. One of the most intense concerts I ever saw.

KzScraper you hit a "home run", I cannot do without any of the artist or groups you mentioned. As for Red Rock Amphitheater, that would be a DREAM place to see a concert. My favorite place here in Southern Cal. is the Hollywood Bowl, a great atmosphere, perfect setting to hear all types of music, a place with history built for musicians and audiences.

My favorite concert is so hard for me to speak of just one. As I have been fortunate to have experienced so many in so many places and settings. 1977 Yes in the round at Memphis was a great one. Meeting, spending sometime with Super Tramp on tour in Toulouse, France'. Was a never forget type of week, as I learned so much about the work and play time of a big name band. One of my other never forgets, was at a very small venue here in Southern Cal. with the Charlie Daniels Band, all I can say is what a artist.

Pink Floyd says it all, all members had their place and times for me. Sid just couldn't stop expanding his mind!

We drove down the Cotton Bowl from Denver to see The Who during their Tommy Tour...most of their shows didn't have and opening act for that tour but we got down there and found out Stevie Ray was going to open...God rest his soul.
