Need help betting on the Super Bowl

Scrap prices have been in the toilet (toilet bowl) around here. Not one load (see last paragraph) has been hauled since October, but about 75 tons of # 1 and even more of unprepared is ready to haul. So it is time to gamble. I am going to take in at least 5 tons of # 1 this week. The idea is to try to make more money by betting the entire load on the Super Bowl.

So instead of betting the Las Vegas odds, I want to bet based on scrape metal prices. So information from anyone from the Northwest or New England or surrounding states would be greatly appreciated. The line in my mind is prepared and unprepared metal. I would appreciate any insight or help.

Right now I am leaning towards Seattle for two reasons, their balls have not been tampered with and they took a gamble on legalizing pot. Although I am to old to be concerned with either of these topics, I still like to dream.

My prediction machine says Seattle 30 NE 23 . The coin flip will be tails to start the game . Gatorade will be orange that gets dumped on Pete Carroll in the end . I hear the over under is 48 . Down 2 points in 3 days . Still like the over .

Btw , steel was $115 a ton today here in the charmed city

Sadly, Olddude is probably right.... again.

I'd like to see what this does to the "more than scrap value" market. I wasn't buying before this mess though, so I don't have any standard of comparison. I personally think that the reusable parts markets will rise, but by how much depends on a lot of things that I don't have much knowledge on.

Oh, yeah... the tortoise will win.

And, hopefully Seattle will too. I don't really like them, but I can't stand Bellicheat!

It'll be weird with no Audi ad. I always loved their spots. The Green Police ad is probably why I own an Audi. Before then, I was unaware that they existed. Who says advertising doesn't work? I still have a soft spot for older Gateway computers.

I don't bet but know someone who put 10k down at the beginning of last season for you guessed it Seahawks to win the Superbowl. That paid out at 7-1 !

You may love him or hate him self described "best corner in the game" Richard Sherman but I really like what he had to say in SI.com

" I got some news nine months ago that helped me reach a conclusion. My girlfriend, Ashley, and I are expecting our first child, a boy, any day now. I’ve realized in the last year that I can evoke change by being a great role model: a man who respects women and police officers, who graduated from college and does everything in his power to be successful within the rules. "

Not bad for a kid from Compton "Where I came from, in Compton, kids were brainwashed into thinking that if they weren’t athletes or rappers or drug dealers they were nothing."

    "

LOB Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Byron Maxwell, Jeremy Lane and, of course, Richard Sherman

Seattle wins the superbowl. Here's why.

Seattle is a 2 point underdog.

Defense wins Championships. NE has no receivers that can match up with Seattle's secondary.

Marshawn Lynch is a proven big-game back that will test New England's defense in a way that no running back this postseason has been able to do.

New England's offense has made it past the competition so far this postseason with a 35-31 win over Baltimore and a decisive 45-7 win over Indianapolis. But while Baltimore's defense is certainly respectable, the Patriots have not faced a defense that comes close to Seattle's level yet.

If you place that 10K bet, let me in. I might cover some of it.

Hauled in the load today and the price dropped this morning again. It has dropped 50% of its value from when I started doing this full time. So the pay check was only $ 500 and I plan to bet it on the Super Bowl to try to make up the difference. I wanted to base the bet on scrap prices, but with limited information that will not happen. Maybe the question should have been gas prices. Therefore I will bet on Seattle based on the pressure in their *****.

By the way Old Dude, I can not wait for your positive prediction.

Seahawks will have home field advantage in Arizona like they did last year in Jersey

There is no place like home for the Seattle Seahawks.

And it appears Seattle will have home-field advantage against the Denver Broncos during Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.

Was mentioned on Philly sports talk today that some 75% of the vegas bets are favoring the Patsies.

I would love to see them get trounced.
