I rarely play the lottery, thanks to my inner cheapskate
I do occasionally take a stab at it. Someone always eventually wins, and the only way to guarantee it won't be you is to not play.
Of course, I'd do the obvious stuff. Mortgage- Bye bye. Truck payment-gone. No one in my family would have a mortgage or vehicle payment. For my kids, I would get them both started in whatever business or career they chose to pursue. They would start with everything they needed, a nice little "egg" of start-up capital/emergency funds and zero debt. The rest would be up to them. I would keep my 2011 Ram 2500 work truck, but also have a "keep nice and don't beat up" truck. New Ram 2500 SLT in Timberline Green Metallic, quad cab/short bed (wouldn't need the 8-foot for this one), and of course the Cummins diesel/6-speed. Only way I'll buy a truck. For my wife, it would be a Dodge Challenger Hellcat with the 392 Hemi/6-speed. She's wanted one since they came out. Oh, yeah, and $10,000 in advance to take care of those pesky speeding tickets.
I would still work, make my small company bigger and hire some help. With several hundred million kicking around, I might even buy my own refinery, just for the fun of making the "big boys" really sweat
Even with hundreds of millions, I think I would stay where I am and finish restoring my old farmhouse. I despise the very thought of moving all of my stuff ever again. Although, it would be cool to walk up to your dream house, have the owner politely inform you that it's not for sale, and reply with "Sure it is." while presenting them with a huge suitcase full of Big Bens.
