    Jon.
They are saying criminals can have their way because nobody has guns legally on campus. Any criminal from this part of the country would not take the chance, they know better.

    AH! OK.

I asked because the left leaning CBC up here (as well as tons of other bleeding hearts and soft in the head wonks) would be trumpeting that the campus would be safe now that no one can have guns on campus. 'Cause the cops will save us.

Ask the people at Virginia Tech if that is true. Or the people at the McDonalds down on the U.S.-Mexican border back in the late 80s or wherever there are larger groups of people who have become victims because no one was armed except the police (who weren't there). And it doesn't really matter if the loser has a large capacity mag or not. I could do the same thing with my plain jane pump 12 gauge that holds 6 rounds. Shooting heavy goose shot or buck shot, I could probably rack up a substantial body count before the cops arrived (just keep putting rounds into the tube without it going dry). Only when 2 things happen in the U.S. will such mass shootings stop: 1) when the media stops naming the killers (never give their names to the public and there is no sick "glory"-- the mass murderer in KC that strangled people is rotting in prison for life and as part of his punishment he's never allowed to watch tv news or read news print). And 2) if such demented losers (who are the ultimate sick twisted bullies) knew that their chances of pulling off a large body count was nearly zero because there was enough armed upright citizens in any crowd, the trend would go way down or at least there wouldn't be high body counts. This may be cold but I think its the truth. I own a dozen firearms or more, have freely carried them around in cars often for almost 40 years, can carry a concealed pistol if I desire (usually not) and have never had to use one against someone or have hurt myself or family or friends. South Dakota has never had a mass shooting that I know of. Don't know if a good number of people carrying concealed would stop it fairly quickly or not but I hope it would...

    Dakota,

I agree entirely. I was just commenting on the idiocy that happens "up here". I live in the sticks with police at least a half hour away, if they respond at all, so I operate as if I have to deal with things on my own.

give me the right to protect myself! Guns were illegal in chicago up until the last couple years yet we still had some of the highest murder rates in the nation. because the criminals all this time were still able to get their guns. proper training should be required. A gun is like a power tool one wrong move and bam you lost a finger or limb. here is someone i grew up with who supposedly shot his own friend waving it around .

I would like to clarify posts number 57 & 59 on the previous page. The reason the legislature voted on CC in the capital and school campuses according to one representative was to make a common practice legal.
