A friend of mine wants me to help him sell this on Craigslist List (it was his dad's). Just wondering you guys thought a good starting price would be. I was thinking about $35 (and willing to come down to $25). It measures 26 inches long, 12 inches wide and 15 inches tall. Sort of heavy sucker as well. Looks like some similar on the Sears web site goes for at least a hundred...

I'd agree - $35's a fair price for a craftsman. I have that exact box in pure red. Mine's beaten to hell but still holds tools and slides like it was new.

southeast South Dakota just off of I-90. Probably a little far for a run from the Hoosier statewhere are you located at?

Check out what a new current model Craftsman tool box sells for. When selling some items at flea markets I would often price the used item at 1/3 the selling price of new. At least if you know the price of new and can put that in you ad to compare to your asking price. Mike

Just 1 state away lol.... But she looks clean, and I love the 1960's c-man boxes.... Restoring one right now... But yeah start at $50 for the little guy and see how she does, may I suggest to lube the slides before trying to sell, that way she slides smooth.... These boxes are much better IMO then any of this new crap

Always start $15-$20 more than what you are willing to take for it. The person that calls or comes to look at it is going to haggle anyway. Ask $50 and take no less than $35

Find the retail price for a new one, go down to about 60% if its under $60, if over then like everyone else said go with $50 and haggle. If you dont want to haggle, I would say be firm at $40. Just dont walk away from a sale over $5. If he nudges insistently and then begins to walk, take off $5. The point is to free the space and put dollars in your pocket, not for it to just sit around and take up space. It is a fine piece, and the logo seems a bit dated. Perhaps it may have a market in the collectors field?? Who knows.
I personally would not mind paying $40 for it if I were in need of it. Does that lock seal all the drawers or just the top? Looks like it would be great for bullion storage.

I sold one very similar a few months back. I listed it for $25 and sold it in about a week for $20.... But I am interested in selling quickly to recoup the $'s and to make room for the next item.
