I remember watching the first episode of Star Trek with my grandfather. This was before our family moved to Arkansas, we still lived here in Southern California and my Grandfather lived just a few houses down the street from us. My Grandfather was born in 1903 the same year the Wright Brothers made the first flight in a plane. He taught me many things, but most important was "that anything could be done, if you work at it and live your dreams. He was a big supporter of all things "technical in nature". He first taught me about electronics, bought me my first telescope and was very excited that we watch the first Star Trek episode.
Remember when Star Trek came out we had not yet landed on the moon yet! My Grandfather was a believer in Star Trek, that it was not all that far fetched, just a matter of time. When we landed on the moon less than three years later, watching that together too! I was hooked and from then on I knew anything was possible.
