    Down sizing my life.

Well truth eventually, comes into every ones life, (no sympathy please, I truly did it my Way) At 71 Having broken my Back twice my neck once and a total of 54 other bones, being stabbed twice and shot twice and being told at 30 I would never walk again I have come to the realization I'm no longer 25.

I'm down to being able to do only 5/6 servers a day down from 20 plus a couple of years back. I'm down to doing 2 boxes of HDs( 156) from a record high of 546.

My Mobil home is over 50 and, falling apart, last week 2 shorts in the elect woke me up to the fact I need to rewire or retire it. (turn it into a storage space.) Wife and kids live here in a 5 year old double wide.

No one in the family wants to take over the bis. they would rather invent an app or a E game () soooo I went out today and bought a 28 ft camper. I was very reluctant at first. When I saw it, it turned out to be the perfect choice for me.

A couple of years ago I came up with the Idea of an association of professional electronic scrappers, for the purpose of research and the stabilization of prices, shipping, methods etc. After much time and a few $ invested I also realize I am no longer able to dedicate the time and $ to do it right. If I can't do it right I won't do it. I am truly sorry for that.

I am not going to give up. I'm just going to down size as I have said.

I will continue on the forum and contribute what little I can, and, yes I will still slap the noobs hand when found attempting to slip a cookie from the cookie jar.

I just want to say before I forget. I consider all 20,000+ of you my very close friends (some closer then others .

I will post photos of my new "house" later.

There is nothing wrong or bad with moving to the next phase in your life. True you can't do as much physical things as before but you have a wealth of knowledge. If there was such a thing as a scrapping consultant you should do that.

I wish you all the best that life has to offer you sir. You have been an inspiration and somewhat of a mentor to me. I have learned so much from reading your posts, and I am a bit ashamed that I could not give back what you have given me. I look foward to reading about the next stage in your life. I hope you keep up with your other hobby. If there is anything I can ever help you with please pm me here or give me a call .

Wish you all the best Mike... I think it's important to slow down and smell the roses sometimes.

Sounds like you are retiring. SMF should provide you with the "Golden Watch", but we know you would just scrap it. I believe I have the right to say that because you helped me on the ultimate scrapping challenge. Thank you. Your ability to guide the rest of us newbies, will be greatly appreciated. You have taken scrapping to the next level on the forum and now teaching us to take it to the next level will be a challenge. Good luck and I will continue to look forward to your insights.

If I had a magic carpet I would be there in a second. Spent a lot of time at Brecken ridge in my younger days.

Hey Mike, I'm still farming with my dad who's 71 and doesn't want to quit so I know how it is man. Those bags of peanut seed (like servers) just don't get any lighter though. You'll find out what you need to do and if I know you, go at it full steam and make it work.

I appreciate your advice on here and ask that you keep it up and let us know what you dream up next. Good luck to ya.

I'm relatively new to the forum, but have definitely enjoyed your posts (those that I've read - planning to read more...you have a lot of posts . Very cool of you to post this. You mentioned no one in your family wants to pursue the business, but I hope someone sees the "Mr. Miagi" wisdom you can provide and maybe steps up to learn. And if one of the clan happens to invent the next big app .... and sells it to whoever for a zillion bucks, well... that's not a bad thing. My boy is 13 and after a brief interest in helping me tear some things up is now back in front of the video screen. He has all A's and gets some exercise through cross country and tennis, but I still cringe when I come home and he's glued to that &&^^&^(* screen. But I digress ....

Best of luck to you sir. If you're not scrapping as much, maybe that's more time to fish, etc.
