I had an experience before in organizing a team building for our company too. I was assigned to look for a venue and to create a plan based on the given budget by the company. My choices of venue were always beach resorts and/or nature trip adventure since we always hold our team building during summer season. I suggest to look for a venue which is less crowded so that you and your group can really enjoy the facilities of venue. Check the rooms and other facilities to ensure that they will feel comfortable. Remember that during team building, we want to feel relaxed and forget about work. Include games too on your list and that can build trust and group effort. A company always want the staff to work as team. Set-up a group sharing too where they can express anything. Encourage them to share good and learning experience from the past where other can learn from it too. I have a lot to share but my I am running out of time. I'll surely come back for more.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

I'd avoid a heavily populated area, too. There's always options, though:

Seriously, other tourists and traffic isn't fun. I'd do it out in the open- it is spring time!

Now, what does this department do again? That'll make a huge difference!

Any recommendations, tips and advice on how I can give my team the best stress-free, fun and memorable team building of their lives? I'm also open to all suggestions when it comes to the games and activities? What do you think are good prizes and giveaways?
I always love planning for team building. We usually hold it in a beach resort. I suggest to get a private one so you can really enjoy the facilities or look for a place which is not too crowded. If you are going to hold in a beach resort, volleyball is always fun...it helps develop team work. You may also include in your list some story sharing which others can learn from. For prizes and giveaways, there are so many ideas you can find around the web. It's fun and challenging to handle this type of event. There also a lot of event consultant or organizers who can do this for you so you can be stress-free too. Don't you want to consider that idea?

I asked them what they wanted to do and all they said was that as long as there's great food, they're happy.

I'm thinking about buying one of the HRDQ sets here and having it as one of our games. Maybe we can work out everyone's strengths and weakness so we are more productive. What do you think? Do you think it's tacky?

What about us cooking our own food? At least for one meal. I can ask the resort ahead of time what ingredients they should buy.

Got to agree with you Sir.
99% of them are just plain misinformation.
And don't get me started on the safety issues.

I used to stop a rest area in Delaware on my way to New Hampshire.

It had a Roy Rogers or something strange..it's been a LONG time tho.

    Clean to!

That's all i got for Delaware other if you blink you'll miss it.

Oh an on topic...the cooking thing I think would be neat. Can you arrange for a grill or two? Could do a fun team building excerise with the cooking. Teams, make the best dish, etc. Loser gets something cool to. Add in challenges to build the team work an you could have some fun.

Hell just fire up the grill provide cold beverages with plenty of options for those that like alcohol an those that don't partake. Throw in a campfire or firepit, some marshmallows an you got a good time.
