    Guest Quarters aka bunkhouse

I was cleaning out a area that I use as a guest room for when I have company that visits for a short while. Most TIMES it will be overnight to a few days. But I do have those that hang out for a week or more.

Many TIMES those that come by from a distance for a visit have their homes along with them. I have the gypsies and the wanderers as I call them that stop in as they travel by my area. This year looks like it will be a boom year for company if all that have shown interest in visiting this year do make it.

I find it interesting and learning when I have visitors from another world visit my personal world.

I have a couple that I met through eBay years back that live in Australia and they are into their collecting and selling. They stayed at my yard for a few days a couple years back as they traveled around the U.S. seeing what they could find at flea markets, thrift stores, antique shops and the like.

They travel all over the world on working vacations. They plan a trip to the U.S. again later this year as they couldn't make it last year because of family issues and such.

So I have been getting the guest area cleaned and ready for company. I had it stuffed with boxes of "good stuff" over the winter months as I don't use it as a guest room in the winter. I have it all cleared of what don't belong and I'm starting to get it ready for company.

What do others have for guests that visit and need a comfortable and reasonable place to bunk?

I have a selection of items and needs that I keep in cabinets and such. I'm getting that stuff together now. New tooth paste, tooth brushes, aspirin, personal needs and other items that a fancy hotel would offer. There is a metal cabinet that has things for cooking, making coffee and such. I have a small refrigerator in there also.

I will stock it better with food items and such as it comes closer to the season when the visitors travel my way.

I don't have what you could call a lot of visitors to my yard, but the ones that do visit are of quality and I want to try and treat them as such as best as I can and make them feel at home and comfortable.

There is a selection of reading material, A TV with VCR and a Nintendo 8 bit system with a few games. I have plenty of lighting, replacement bulbs and what ever else a guest that travels may require.

So what sort of services do you offer in the bunkhouse?

And for those that travel and stay in guest rooms and bunkhouses. What features do you look forward to or find a need for?

Good thing that I had the bunkhouse ready as I had overnight company the other day.
Funny thing is that what my guest was interested in had been stored in that room over the winter so it was in the other room.

I find it interesting in that once I find the proper beat of the drum set, that the pathway before me flows along at a pleasing pace.

What was it that so interested and excited my overnight guest that he traveled many miles to see what there was?

Over 80 pounds of die cast cars like Hot Wheels and Matchbox. I sold them by the pound as that worked out just fine and dandy.

Now to get digging out those 6 inch action figures. The He Man, G.I Joe, TMNT, wrestling and such. And let us not forget the Star Wars figures.

Interesting collectable curios is the steak of my trade. Now for a nibble of veggies and a sip of milk n honey,lol...

    p.s. HI! Curt

I saw that on eBay awhile back. I have so much stuff such as die cast cars and other small toys that I most TIMES just trade and sell by weight or box fulls. I see it as the stuff is paid for and I don't have much invested in most of it. I like it when both sides of a deal come out like fat cats.

I hear ya , I have a friend who collects those things . We trade all the TIME . He always tells me what to look for . But much like me explaining video games and circuit boards to him . It seems like a foreign language . Glad it worked out for you
