What do you guys think this would be worth on CL part 2??

I have a friend of mine who does a lot more pheasant hunting than I do so he gets me the skins with the tail still attached, I dry them with borax, and then sell them on ebay in lots of 9-10, and then a couple of clean up lots of "seconds" at the end. We don't make a whole lot, probably ave year-in, year-out less than $2 a skin but we've sold hundreds of them over a dozen years or so.

Anyway, he'll also give me things he doesn't want anymore to sell and more recently stuff from his mid-70s folks. I'm a lot more centrally located in our metro than he is so have a better selling location. He just recently moved his parents and showed up today with a pick-up full of stuff. Here are a couple of unusual items that I really don't know what they would be worth and a boat trailer wheel/tire. Just wondering if you think my ranges may be reasonable for our local CL.

The first thing is a home-made dual grinder that his dad made probably 40 years ago. Heavy thing, probably 60-80 lbs. total. Half horse power motor on it plus dual guards. I was thinking of asking $30 for it.

His folks had an acreage out in the country and I understand the need for a lot of garden hose but I've never seen one of these. When I first saw it, I thought it was more stout than it probably is and definitely seen its days out in the rain. I don't see a brand name listed on it. I was thinking $15-20 for it.

The last thing is just a common Shorelandr boat trailer wheel and tire. Its a Goodyear F78-14ST. They look to be in good shape. I was thinking in the $15-20 range as well.

    Thanks for looking and commenting!!

If you don't get $30 for the grinder keep it for yourself, but that's how I've got all this junk around here! LOL

Thanks guys!! I'll get those up tonight so I can clear some space from the first 4 feet of my 3rd stall. The wife just rolls her eyes and says, "Nothing goes on my side"...

On my phone, instead of taking me to your profile it took me to mine... oooops...

But IMO $30 is a steal for the grinder (look how much a stand alone cost)...

good luck on selling your spoils

Well, I haven't got my consignment things up on CL yet as my evenings have been away from home but starting tomorrow evening things are more open. I have one more item I'd like you all help pricing. My friend's folks had a couple of sets of trailer jacks. The first is pretty light weight and probably should be priced about $5 but these are more stout and are labeled "3-ton" but they have no brand name. Nice heft to them. I was thinking of asking $15 for them.

    Dakota,
Those are automotive jackstands used to hold up a car or whatever safely once you got it up in the air so you can work under it. Check your local automotive retailers or the wallyworld box stores to see what they go for new.

15 bucks seems cheap for decent ones...and they are darn handy when you need them!!

    Jon.

Sounds good but how about $15 and two full cans of coke.

Grinder is an easy $100 to the right person. You just need to factor in how long you want to spend on selling it. I can sell a chair I buy at goodwill for double on craigslist if I find the right buyer. $50 if you want it gone fast.

I listed 6 items on CL this morning before work, 5 out of 6 gone in two sales this evening for a total of $90. I'll take a third as a commission. I figured I made $30 an hour doing it, a quarter of that jawing. Thanks for the advice from you all. More goodies to look through and list...

Ended up selling the boat trailer wheel & tire yesterday. I didn't catch it when I listed but it was pretty cupped on one side from uneven wear so dropped the price way down. Still, 6 for 6 in 2+ days time for a $100 (of which I'm taking a third as commission). Less junk in my garage as of today...

That hose thing is about 75-100 retail at lowes. My late father bought one identical and I was with him....
