You've got to be careful because there's a very thin line between fantasy and reality. What's real and what isn't is mostly a matter of perception & worldview.

Check it out: I Paint What I See | I Paint What I See

Human memory isn't all that reliable. There is a process called "confabulation " where we manufacture false memories of past events. Many innocent men have been sent to prison due to eye witness testimony that was later proven to be incorrect.

Here's an explanation of it: Confabulation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are cultures that don't distinguish between historical fact and historical fiction because the two can be nearly indistinguishable from one another. Take the new testament of the bible for instance .... The earliest book of the bible was written roughly thirty years after the death of the teacher and was written as a first hand account. Could anyone accurately recall, word for word, a conversation they had thirty years ago ?

It's all a pretty slippery slope.

Based on the responses I recommend you all get together and form a band. Call it Village People or something....

It gets pretty freaky when you come to understand just how faulty human memory recall really is.

It's possible that you may be living for a past that never was.

    Just sayin'

Who needs fantasy and fiction when you have a reality that is far better?

I have to agree with these statements. As a person, I have never lived within what everyone else calls reality. Frankly, it never worked for me, so I created my own reality. I am the only person who lives here and not many can understand. It is something that most cannot grasp so it is usually referred to as fantasy, but it really is not. There are no dragons or trolls here, no rainbow bridges. It is simply my own reality, that I built from the bottom up, starting as young as I can remember. It is a much better place.

The best part of being in the band I suppose....
All this "band" talk is interesting as I grew up being impressed with Elvis Presley and got my first guitar at age 13. Played my first gig at age 15 with the "band" and fulfilled many dreams in music by the time I was 19. Uncle Sam had bigger plans for me during the Vietnam War and music went out the window until my son got into a band as a drummer in 1996. I was asked to participate with him and opportunities grew from there. Now the wife and I both play with the "band" and because we play for hire, it's called "professional". We've been doing this for nearly 20 years and hope to have a few more on the horizon. Yes, the groupies and roadies are welcome as there's much work involved by playing 45+ weekends a year.

I can't say I had aspirations at age 5, but my desires varied as time went by. Growing up on a farm, I received the values I needed to lead a fulfilled life. At an early age, I realized that I liked variety. I held many jobs out of necessity off the farm, failed at some and have regrets but find that conservatism is always a winner. I hate wastefulness and that is probably why I'm scrapping for the most part. This too may be a passing thing due to timelapse/approaching age etc. Overall, I'm blessed to be an American farmer where I can enjoy my cows and chickens, my faith, the wife and music.

Can you pick out the scrapper here?

All too familiar with the cycle of life Bro. (Worked in a nursing home providing plant services for six years.)You start out as an infant and if you complete the cycle you return to being an infant. The end stage isn't pretty. It's an ignominious end to an illustrious life. I saw so many of the big dawgs of their day reduced to babbling idiots in an adult diaper.

Man can I relate to that...they were my first concert experience in 1976 and I was hooked. Can't believe they are still drawing crowds today.

When I was five though I wanted to be...either cop on One Adam 12, Batman, Underdog but mostly Daniel Boone. The sound and smoke from that gun was the shiznit.

Yeah KZ, those were the days. I think I was 10 or 11 KISS was on tour and the neighbor kids were going to the concert. My mom wouldn't let me go...I was devastated. Little did I know I could see them 30 years later and get the exact same show. Lol
