Looking for an oddball replacement laptop lcd screen

    Hi,

I'm looking for a good used LCD touchscreen for an Acer laptop. It's the type you can poke the screen with your finger to help your computing.

My wife has been using it and quite likes it. But the screen got broken. My boy purchased a replacement touchscreen that fits over the LCD screen but we found that the touchscreen is very firmly attached to the LCD screen with some sort of buffalo snot--100% glued down. We kinda frapped the lcd screen when we tried to separate the two.

So we need a whole new LCD and touch panel, preferably in one piece!

Anyone got one that is in good shape? eBay shows a gazillion of the replacement touch panels, which is no good for us and about 2 or 3 complete replacement lcd panels/touchscreens. But they are new and at heavenly price. I'm happy to pay good used prices! I'm located in BC, Canada so shipping by USPS will be the simplest to get across the border.

The laptop is an Acer v5-571 model ms2361.

    Thanks,
    Jon.

Try a laptop repair shop near you, they usually have tons of used parts laying about.

I live about an hour from a town where I can get bullets and flour. I think they have just got morse code comm's to the place last year.

....besides, I like dealing with the people on SMF.

    Jon,

You might try a PM or e-mail to some of the e-waste buyers here. If they're buying complete laptops or laptop screens they might have one to sell.
