I'm not a mother but I've got one living with me.
She's deaf and having a difficult time learning sign language, although she's got the universal one down to an art form.
I asked her, in sign, what she wanted for her Mother's day dinner.
It's more like a game of charades to her but I finally translated it to: Breakfast. Runny eggs and a big piece of sausage.
I can't repeat what she actually signed but I made her go wash her hands.

    HAPPY MAMA DAY!

Yep you don't miss them till there gone, so anyone that still has one (or two if married) make sure you put out a little effort so they know you still love them!

You made her wash her hands. That is so funny.
This is my first Mothers Day without my Mom and it's been hard. I don't tell people this to get sympathy or anything like that but to let people know they won't always be around. Love them, take care of them and do for them what they did for you when you were little. Roles reverse as parents get older. They become like children and we like the parents. Feeding them when they are hungry. Cleaning them when they make a mess and holding them when they cry. I remember holding my crying son when he was to little to tell me what was wrong and I remember 11 months ago doing the same thing with my Mom. It was hard but I would do it again in a minute. She was awesome.

Yep, been there. Trying to reason with diseased addled minds why they can't go home and why its almost at the end is just stinking hard. Lucklily for mine, they only hit that point during the last month or so of life but within a year of each other. Only have to go through that experience probably once more...
