Of all the characters I know I'm learning that my friend Don`had his **** together at an early stage of his life. He bought 7 beautifully forested acres on the outskirts of Hope proper when he was 21 years old then selectively logged some trees to build a trappers style cabin to live in while building the log home shown below.
He used local stones for all the masonry work and local cedar for hand split shakes, the roof on the house is now 45 years old and still shows no signs of rot.
I will post a picture of the trappers style cabin which is now my home later.
